Ever since I got my BFP I have been waking up at 5am. This is my third pregnancy, but I don't remember this symptom. I just want to sleep while I can . Is anyone else having this problem?
I'm relieved to hear others experiencing the insomnia. I thought pregnancy was supposed to make you drowsy and sleep all the time, but I'm having difficulty sleeping. I'll go to bed around 10/11 pm, then wake up around 2/3 am and watch tv, sometimes I'll be lucky enough to get another hour sleep and I'm not drowsy during the day.
I have been sleeping better with the pregnancy, but I do wake up earlier than I want to with the morning sickness..but I am ready for bed by 9 every night--- I am always so tired.
I'm with you. I can get to sleep just fine, but the minute my alarm clock goes off at 6am, I spring right out of bed. I used to hit snooze a thousand times, but now I pop right up because I've already been wide awake for an hour or so, anyway.

Check with your OB about ambien. It really helped me on those desperate occasions. She'd only give me about 10 a month so my body didn't become addicted to it and have to have it in order to sleep.
I wake up every few hours, go to the bathroom, lay down, and try to sleep. It takes me about 45 minutes to an hour to fall back asleep. And I'm tired during the day!
I didn't have any problems with this until last week (12 weeks) and now it's a huge problem! My alarm is usually set for around 8 or 8:30, but every single morning without fail, I wake up at 6 am and can't fall asleep again for a long time. Frustrating! Wondering if this is going to go on...
Ok thanks ladies. I woke up at 4am again today, so I think I will try Unisom tonight.
FYI there are two types of unisom. One is actually the same active ingredient as Benadryl (Diphenhydramine HCI) and another (Doxylamine succinate) which works better IMO.
I am having the same problem. This morning I woke up at 2:45! I am going to have to start going to sleep really early so that I can at least get some sleep before the hours of laying in bed begin. I have read that it safe to take the Diphenhydramine HCI and have been taking it. It really hasn't worked for me very well. I am interested in trying the Doxylamine succinate. I haven't been to my OB yet for my first appointment so I still going off of the internet for guidelines. Is the Doxylamine succinate also safe?
Same here!! I'm in bed by 8 or 9 and sleep great but wake up by 5am!!! Then I'm tired all day. I remember this with my first but more towards the third trimester. I'd go to sleep early then be up at 3/4am.
I am experiening this too! No trouble falling asleep but a bird might flap its wing at 4-5 am and I'm awake like I drank 10 Red Bulls! I think for me it's the excitement of being pregnant. (A while in the making.)
This signature is all for YOU. I'm on mobile and can't see crap.
