5 times -- 6am, 10am, 1:30pm, 4:30pm, bedtime. That's a rough schedule, depending on naps, etc. On DC days he very often doesn't want to nurse at 4:30 (or at all before bed). Yesterday I think he would have been happy only eating three times; today he's been a hungry hippo.
Roughly every three hours still. We do solids in between. He is constantly eating.
This!!! Legit boobie monster here. Plus meals and snacks (snacks are just a few chunks of mango or bites of Apple sauce but still) Still not sttn sooooo yea eats all the time
5 times here too 6:30am 10:30am 2:30pm 5pm 6:30pm (bedtime)
I think that we are close to combining the 2:30 and 5pm bottle though.
I've been wondering when it's "ok" to let LO drop another feed. I know his nutrition should still be coming from milk, but sometimes he's only interested in nursing three or four times.
I am so unstructured about these things. She eats constantly it seems, either solids or a bottle or both every couple hours. And she's still downing 14oz or so overnight!
She'll probably get back on a better schedule once she starts up at daycare again, but apparently right now it's a free for all buffet in the codypup household.
I'm always concerned she isn't getting enough milk, as I know it's supposed to be the main source of nutrition still.
She usually only wants to nurse/have a bottle after she naps, which used to be every 2.5-3 hours. Now she is starting to be able to stay awake for longer periods, so I was wondering if I should feed her before her naps...but then she still wants to nurse after too.
I feel better knowing most of your Los are going 4 hours between bm/formula!
I BF on demand. She will sign 'milk', or ask to be picked up, then try to open my bra. Typically it's 2-4 hours. She also do not have a shedule for table food, either.
LO is one of the youngest (8 months), but our schedule is approximately:
8 nurse 10:30 nurse or 5oz BM + 2 oz formula 12 (~4 oz solids) 1:30 nurse or 5oz BM + 2 oz formula 4:30 nurse or 5oz BM + 2 oz formula 6:30 nurse 8:30 2 oz formula, then nurse
LO usually also eats 1-2 times over night, but more because that's how I can get her back to sleep -- she only seems hungry sometimes.
I definitely hesitate to cut back because LO's growth has been slow from time to time, but sometimes when she nurses it's only for about 5 min or so.
We are also going to start giving her more solids around 5.
Example schedule (times vary day to day, pretty drastically).
Up and bottle at 7. Nap at 8:30-10 Bottle at 10. Lunch solids at 11. Bottle at 1-1:30 Nap right afterwards until 3:30-4ish Bottle at 4-4:30 Dinner solids at 5:30-6 Bottle at bedtime 8-8:30.
This varies if DH keeps her (she takes more, shorter naps), or if I am home with her. It also matters if we have daycare or not (her day is longer, and she will need a third nap). If we are busy, sometimes the solids timing is off, which can cause bottles to be spaced out more.
TL;DR We have a super loose 'schedule'. She roughly takes 25-30 oz formula a day, plus solids.
