I have a whole board on Pintrest I send them ;). It is mostly development toys, books and excercise toys like the baby fitness center "edushape-edu-fit-mega-pack-fitness-center" at Target (sorry, can't link!)

I may or may not be ordering entirely too much stuff for LO myself, too. It's target's fault for having free shipping! Oh well...

Edited because the interwebz is hard.
  • I made an Amazon list that family can either get exactly those items or use for inspiration. Learning toys, a walking toy, extra large play mat, clothing, books, items leftover from baby registry, piggy bank, highchair, wagon. I looked at Amazons idea listed and googled to get ideas. We also picked a lot items that were 6+ months on age since that's right around the corner. Also have many items as inexpensive as $5 to $10.
  • I don't really have preferences as long as its NOT CLOTHES. We have enough clothes to get us through next summer.

  • Money for the college fund or diapers. Boring, I know but useful. We also go by the one thing they want, one thing they need, one thing to wear and one thing to read. It helps cut down on the amount of stuff we have and it will hopefully manage expectations so they won't expect a bunch of stuff under the tree when they are older.
  • A jumper & diapers. Some development toys & books are alway nice too.

    We live by the following:

Something you want, something you need,
Something you wear and something you read

And Santa, and stocking. It rounds it out and then you have covered all the good bases!
I LOVE this! I think I will go with this every year! Seems incredibly financially possible and reasonable to give LO 5 gifts and stocking!
  • Clothes, development toys, exersaucer, jumper
  • This blog I follow had some great ideas!
