MOTN pumping?

I have noticed in other discussions that some of you are pumping in the MOTN. I was wondering why. Is it to increase supply, because your books are full, and/or for extra stored milk? I haven't pumped in the MOTN. Is it worth it to lose valuable sleep time?

    I do it to keep up. I have a whopping 32oz for my freezer stash and it's been an incredibly slow process. If I don't MOTN pump, I fall behind, and I feel bad giving formula if I can prevent it.

    I did with DD for a while just to have the extra for the freezer. It ended up not being worth it. I didn't do that this time around. Sleep is precious to me.

    I would only do that as an alternative to formula supplementation. I would do anything else to increase my supply during the day first. Sleep is precious...we get up enough with our LOs.

    I did it initially to increase my supply and to relieve the fullness, but I started EPing at 1.5 weeks PP. Plus, I developed mastitis from a plugged duct, so I was afraid to go to long without pumping in the beginning for fear of it returning. It was hell setting my alarm to get up while the baby was sleeping, and it always took me forever to fall back asleep. I cut out the MOTN pump at 7 weeks, and now pump right before I go to bed and then again around 5-6 am, which is what I'll be doing when I go back to work. We were supplementing with formula in the early weeks, but the MOTN pump I believe really helped increase my supply.

    DD usually wakes up around 3 or 4 am and I pump then. It is when I get the most oz throughout the day. If DD didn't wake up then neither would I!

    I pump when DS wakes at night. He usually only wakes up once or twice so I give him a bottle and pump. I get all that done in usually 45mins or so. I'm doing that because my supply is the highest at night and it allows me to have bottles in case I need them. I have about 32oz in the freezer bc I just started stashing the second pump this week. I'm stashing just in case I decide I don't want to bf anymore or if he doesn't take well to formula when I stop at 6months

    LO has been STTN for close to a month now and I have never woken up to pump. Sleep is way too precious to me. I do wake up pretty engorged, so he will eat on one side and I will pump the other.

    I used to to keep up with Itty bits 3 hr schedule. About 2 months ago she stopped waking at 3am so i stopped needing to pump then, now I pump first morning feed either before she eats if she's not awake and i feel really engorged or after she eats to relieve the engorgment in my other breast. I pump about enough for 2 morning bottles that way.

    I found if I'm not careful with pumping only 1time a day i can end up with over a weeks worth of milk in the fridge and roughly 12 ozs spoiling because i didn't freeze it soon enough

    LO still wakes up at 2 & 5 am so I pump while he eats at the 5am feeding... I get enough for a bottle and another one at the 8 am feeding.... It's just enough for my husband to take a feeding and store some

    I only pump if LO STTN. she's not consistent yet (every other night or so), so if she does STTN, I wake up engorged and have to pump about 3-4 am.. Which is what I'm ding now lol
