Anyone suffering from PGP? I feel like I pulled a muscle but thinking its PGP brought on by 3T combined with too much walking today. If so, what has your experience been and how do you deal?

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.  -Philippians 4:6-7

  • yeee-ouch!  Sounds painful, so big, soft ((HUGS)) to you!  I wonder if getting one of those belly-brace things would be helpful?
  • I've just been resting a lot and keeping my legs together. ;)

I'll ask the OB what to do next week when I see her.  Hopefully it improves before then but man it hurts, especially when I'm crouching, walking, or changing positions in bed.

  • Are you talking about symphysis pubis dysfunction? I had that with my son from 22 weeks til I gave birth at 37.5 weeks and it was a living nightmare. It honestly terrifies me of having it again. It will likely get worse as you get further along. By the end I couldnt walk(I collapsed frequently) or even dress myself it was so bad. I plan to go to a physical therapist this time around. Chiropractic care helped, and I go to the chiropractor anyways so they will treat me for that as well but even though it did help it wasnt enough. But mine seemed to be an exceptionally bad case.

  • I talked to my doctor about SPD (I'm assuming it's the same thing) at my 20 week appointment. It hurts in my low back and hips when I stand or walk a lot. I bought a maternity support belt to wear when I know I'll be on my feet a lot and it helps so much! I also so yoga to stretch and it feels good. In particular, I like child's pose and sitting crossed legged, then just lean forward with a straight back.

  • @hawaiiansunset09 and @luciddreamer106 - SPD and PGP are the same thing .. I think PGP is the newer term for it?

lucid - I was doing child's pose this morning to try to help it and it seemed to do some good - I just rested my head on a bunch of pillows.

hawaiian - this is my nightmare.  Trying to dress myself was pretty painful these last couple of days, particularly when standing on the left leg.  I feel like it happened so suddenly.  LO switched from transverse to head down a day or two before which I think was the primary reason for the sudden onset; well, that plus a lot of walking.  I have a long commute to work so the collapsing/being unable to ambulate on my own is one of my main fears.
