DD has recently started yelling "tight!" and whining, squirming, and generally making things difficult every time I have to buckle her into something, like her carseat or high chair.
Can I get some commiseration of toddler frustrations? What's everyone else going through lately?
Re: Phases we wish would end
Also, kind of not the same thing, but I cannot wait until I have a #2 who is 12-18mo old and DD has someone to dance/play/interact with. It seems like such a long way away now but ohmigish get me there fast.
We used to all snuggle up on the couch and share a bowl of popcorn on weekends, but no more. Now he'll grab a bunch and throw it. DH is a "we don't waste food in this house" kinda guy, so there's a lot of food being picked up off the (clean) floor and then being served again. On the plus side, my floors are really clean because I wash them several times a day!

Lovely.
Oh and my once awesome eater is getting pickier. I'm not pleased about that.

I really wish DS would stop putting his finger in his nose. This has been going on for several months and he knows we don't want him to do it. We've tried redirecting, telling him not to do it and that it's yucky, we've tried having him put his hand elsewhere, all to no avail. He does this frequently throughout the day, often at the end of meals, and if he's tired/bored/nervous, or if he wants attention.
My most recent effort to curb this is to tell him take your finger out of your nose and then I take his wrist gently and hold it for 10-15 seconds which really irritates him. Then I ask him if he wants me to let go, and I tell him okay, but he can't put his finger in his nose. After a few days of this, I'm finally starting to notice a decrease in the behavior.
