Ideas on how to get EBF baby to take Elecare?

Hey y'all, I'm a mom to three girls. DD3 is 5 months old and has MSPI, but I suspect more so just MPI. Anyway, I EP, so she's solely on BM up until recently, I became sick and my supply dropped drastically. I've tried everything to boost my supply, but I'm not producing enough to meet her daily needs. I've exhausted my freezer stash and now have to supplement with Elecare. However, she absolutely refuses the formula, even when mixed 3/4 of BM to 1/4 formula.

Any ideas on how to get her to take the formula?

  • mmm, go cold turkey on the EBM and just give her Elecare.  I mean I HATE to not give EBM if there is at least some available but if she won't take the Elecare even when it is only 25% you might have to basically give her no other option but the Elecare for a couple days.  She will refuse to take it at first but she will get hungry enough to start taking it at some point.  Then you could give her some breast milk mixed into the Elecare once she gets used to it.  In the mean time you would replenish some of your freezer stash.  I know it is not an ideal option, but it is an option nonetheless.
