  • I will have to cut G off so he won't get sick, but he'll get way more sweets than usual.

Lo on the other hand barely eats solids anymore and just wants milk so I will offer him cut up pieces of everything but I'm sure he will just throw it on the floor. Kid is a tough customer food wise these days!

  • I'll let him sample a few of his candies tonight and also allow him to enjoy it every few days until it's gone.

  • I'll probably sneak him a bite or two of something, but given my sweet tooth, his candy will probably be gone before we even get back to the house...
  • I voted yes, but really tonight I'll leave it up to my mom. I'll give her permission to let her have something, but it's her call if she wants to risk a kid on a sugar high before bed, lol. I'm sure she'll let her have some Smarties or something like that.

  • Speaking of Smarties, do you all have Smaties down in the States? Like the candy coated chocolate ones? DH and I were watching something on TV (I cannot for the life of me remember what) and it showed some different candies and one was called smarties but was actual candies in a clear wrapper...?

  • That's kind of what I saw. They reminded me of sweet tarts (but obviously I haven't tasted them, so just the look). You guys are missing out! Smarties are soooo much better than M&Ms!!!

  • I'm in the just one group. Can't wait to see what he does with it.

  • I am giving out organic fruit snacks. And we are going to 4 houses. So we will see

  • I might let Owen have a piece tonight. I don't want to ruin bed time though, so we'll see. I took out our huge bucket of candy today (I've had it hidden) and I gave him a snack size 3 musketeers.

We're not trick or treating (I don't think....Ds2 who's 8 decided he wants to pass out candy instead. ) So unless he changes his mind we'll be at home, so I might save a few candies for the boys. Let them have first pick. :)

  • I'm sure he'll end up with a couple pieces of candy. He's going to be my mom's problem tonight lol

This is exactly what happened. G had a meltdown after he was only allowed 4 pieces (set the number and discussed it multiple times in advance) and even when I unwrapped candy for Lo he just wanted the shiny crinkly wrappers. So zero candy for Lo!

  • Yup. Both kids already got a few fun sized kit kats. I don't keep candies around the house so it was a big treat for them. Tomorrow I'll hide the candy and dh will bring it into work with him Monday.

  • LO had a little fun sized milk chocolate.  He was *beyond* thrilled about it.  I was very happy to make his evening that much more enjoyable after the cold/rainy walk through the neighborhood!

  • As I suspected, grandma gave in and let her have treats. When I left for my dinner date with DH they were sharing a fun size box of Scaries (the Halloween version of canadian Smarties). I'm betting that's probably all she had, maybe a small bite or two of something else. It was nearing bedtime.

  • B and I split a fun size bag of M&Ms - that was good enough.

  • No idea if Grayson had candy last night after we left. One of the cul-de-sacs in my neighborhood had some people that had hot dogs and stuff out. One of the guys put a wrapped up hot dog in Grayson's bucket and he ate that when we got home (I know the guy who gave it to him) but no candy. He also got a juice box from another house. We shared a fun size kit kat earlier :)

  • I was really excited to find that most of DDs bucket was filled with non candy treats like pretzels goldfish etc. I did let her have a dum dum and a mini kitkat. It was her first kitkat and her reaction was priceless. She had a lot of sweets yesterday over all and she slept just fine. It was tradition growing up to have apple cider and munchkin donuts at grandmas before trick or treating and I wanted to keep that going with her. While I'm not real strict with sweets per say, they are pretty rare for her but 1 day of holiday indulgence every few months never hurt anyone and I've never allowed her to over do it enough to be sick
