2nd Trimester

very concerned

Hey everyone,

I hope people won't find this post dumb, but today I didn't notice that I was standing in front of a microwave (that was on) for about 6 minutes (there was a lot going on, I was at work). It got me thinking that I am probably harming the baby. Is this true? Im not going to Google it because in trying not to get on that at all.

Ahhhh there's always something to worry about :/

You're fine. If your anxiety about pregnancy is really affecting you so much, please get a few pregnancy books and consider seeing a counselor that specializes in anxiety management.

I've been through a lot with my health so its hard for me to accept that I AM pregnant. I have an appointment to see my psychiatrist on November 12th. I can't wait. She has helped me though a lot over the years so I know she will get me thinking positive.

  • I didn't post about my babys heart stopping.. I posted about being worried if I use it too much.

I actually participate a lot - I dont only use this as a "personal freak out google".
  • I can see how that would happen. Must get annoying. I apologize to everyone.
  • Well, I work over 10 hours everyday so ill get there eventually.

    Thanks @Amstreagle‌ :)

I didn't say I was the only one.
  • I am in no way a WK.  But I do have to say it is posts like these that are the reason I  love TB.  OP I love your attitude.  You asked a ridiculous questions got some snark back and took it like a champ.  I too have major anxiety and sometimes receiving the "are you serious" or "you sound stupid and crazy" replies kinda snaps me outta it the way it has for you.  You could have totally freaked out and gone BSC but you reacted the way someone who is actually in therapy does.  You realized your ridiculousness.  I've always said sometimes it takes just saying your fears out loud or writing them down to overcome them. I don't think there is a reason for us to continue the snark and nastiness when she has clearly stated she see's the light.  That is not a good way to support someone who is going through therapy for anxiety.

FWIW I am in no way telling anyone how they should respond.  But I had to speak out because this is one of the few times I've seen someone react like an adult and not taken it the wrong way.

Perfectly put. I'm all for snark but harping on someone who has clearly said, "You're right, I'm being ridiculous, thanks for the wake - up call" is just unnecessary.

  • Thats why I love it here. Thank you all so much! Being told how it is actually helped me. Yesterday a 'concern' crossed my mind and I immediately thought of everyone's advice here and BAM! just like that, it was gone. :)

@worrywart22 this is the exact reason I am here.  Many people freak out and can't take the snark.  I look at it as honest therapy.  My therapist doesn't hold my hand and placate me.  I'm not looking for enablers I'm looking for people to snap me outta it.  You've got a great attitude and I too always think about everyones advice here when I worry about something.  I call it my internal TB.
