Pregnant after a Loss

I am new in scared

Hi. I am currently almost 8 weeks pregnant on my third pregnancy- other two were miscarriages.

I am freaked out about miscarrying again. I lost both my other pregnancies right before 6 weeks and never saw anything on U/S. I had an early ultrasound at 6 weeks with my current pregnancy and saw the heartbeat and the baby.

I have been sicker than a dog and other lovely pregnancy symptoms that were not strong with the two first pregnancies.

I have my next ultrasound on Tuesday.. I am so nervous. I am hoping that it is different this time due to the pregnancy symptoms, being farther along, and already seeing the heartbeat/baby.

Any encouragement? I have my hopes up on this one.

Thanks

  • sorry for the typo on the tittle. "I am new AND scared". Ugh.

  • Congrats on your pregnancy and welcome to the the board! The mantras pinned at the top of the board were (and still are) extremely to me, especially, "Today I am pregnant and I love my baby." Trying to keep my thoughts in the present and not worrying about the future or remembering the past was also helpful. I also found a lot of security in my first trimester symptoms, although they tend to come and go. Congrats again!

  • Welcome to the board and congrats on your pregnancy!  I've had three consecutive losses and am currently pregnant for the fourth time.  I've decided that my only option this time around is to be positive.  It's a daily decision that I make, and it's not always easy.  With my last pregnancy, I let myself fall in love with the little heartbeat and wiggles I saw on the screen (my first time seeing that!), and even though I lost her, I'm so thankful that I let myself love that little life for the time she was with us.  I am confident that this will be our rainbow baby, but on days when I'm having a hard time fighting through the doubts, I remind myself of the promise I made to love this little one with all of my heart every day of his/her life.  That outweighs the fears every time ;)
  • Congratulations and welcome to pgal! I have one son (2) and had no trouble getting pregnant with him. We started ttc #2 this year and I had three losses all before 7 weeks. I saw my OB several times as well as a specialist and all my testing came back normal. They assured me that early losses are much more common than most people think and that there was nothing wrong. I'm now 13 weeks and everything has been fine so far. Seeing the baby and a heartbeat is a great sign. I hope your next ultrasound goes well. Read the mantras! They are very helpful.
