birth control

hi ladies,

can you please share your experience with either a tubal ligation or essure? what was the experience and recovery like? Thanks for any feedback.

Re: birth control

  • I had essure and then had to have a tubal bc the coils migrated to my colon and appendix. I had 4 vaginal childbirths and did not want to have surgery so I chose essure. Now I have had 3 surgeries bc of essure, essure is not as great as what the doctors are making it seem. It is too new and there are no long term studies we are the long term study. Essure is made of nickel and pet fibers of which they can cause chronic inflammation. Pet fibers are also a known carcinogenic. Essure causes havoc in our bodies. It causes autoimmune response and makes us so swollen and bloated we look like we are 6 months pregnant. And if you have a nickel allergy forget it and if not don't worry bc you can develop one. Women are getting pregnant on essure the coils are perforated organs and migrating to other parts of the body. They are breaking and doc don't know how to remove them bc they have not be trained. Essure is causing debilitating health problems for women, I would not recommend essure to anyone. Your best bet is to have your significant other get a V if not get your tubes tied and burnt. There are so many ore things essure is causing in women, if you want more info please join the closed Facebook group called essure problem. I wish you the best. I hope you do your research before doing anything permanent and putting a foreign object in your body. Think about it, why do that to yourself, why take the chance.

  • While Bellababies' story is very unfortunate, please consider the source. She has two posts and both were only to scare people away from Essure. Do your research. Every procedure has risks. Essure has Erin Brockovitch with all the terrible stories. You can read about post tubal ligation syndrome. Mirena has whole sites dedicated to issues as well. Etc. Etc. Etc. Take reviews with a grain of salt and talk to your doctor.

I planned on Essure, but had a reaction (very rare) to the lidocaine injection, so we were never able to place the coils. I ended up with a tubal instead. It was recent, so I have no long term experience to share, but I feel like nothing changed, so far. Good luck in your choice.

  • I've never heard of Essure, but I had a tubal done 2 years ago. It was done during a RCS. I was obviously sore from my CS so I'm not sure what recovery from just a tubal would be like. My periods are normal, same as before. I'd definitely do it again.
