Pregnant after a Loss

Cytotec induced miscarriage.

So got horrible news a couple days, there wasn't a baby forming. Doc said with levels in the 30,000 to 40,000 we should've have seen something. But there was just a gestational sac. For closure I have decided not to get a d and c, i opted for the medically indiced miscarriage. Has anyone used Cytotec with having a previous c-section over 3 years ago? A miscarriage measuring only 5 weeks? I know I'm in for some pain. But can you ladies give some in site?

  • I'm sorry for your loss. I haven't had a c section, but I used cytotec with my last loss. I was given pain meds and took them a few hours after the cytotec was placed. Everyone is different, but I didn't have a lot of pain. Thinking of you.

  • I am so sorry for your loss. I took Cytotec with my loss measuring 6 weeks. This took place 1.5 years after the birth if my son who was born via C-section. Everyone has a different experience but for me it was very painful like the labor with my son (I had a scheduled C but went into labor prior and made it to about 5cm before I made it to the hospital & into the OR). It felt similar to that. Bad cramps and back pain and the feeling like I had to poop. The pain progressed quickly and steadily and within 3 hours of taking it I passed the baby. I had very light bleeding for a week and two weeks later an u/s confirmed that I didn't have any retained tissue. Like I said before everyone is different but feel free to PM me if you have any questions. I'm so sorry you have to go through this and wish you the best of luck.
