Almost broke down at dinner - *Loss Mentioned*

I had a miscarriage about 3.5 weeks ago.  I had dinner yesterday with some friends that I haven't seen in a while who know nothing about our TTC journey.  I drove so I wasn't drinking and they ordered a beef tartare appetizer which I don't eat.  One of them came to the conclusion that I must be pregnant because I wasn't drinking or eating raw food.  It was an innocent joke but man was it a punch in the gut. :(  So yeah I had to excuse myself for a few.

  • I'm so sorry. Treat yourself well during this time.

  • I'm sorry you had that happen. Even though it was an innocent question I can totally understand why you were so upset. I would have ordered a big glass of wine after that. Big hugs sweets.

  • I'm so sorry. I know they meant well, but it still hurts.

Right after my second MC, a waitress asked if I was pregnant because I didn't finish my food. When I said no, she kept pressing, saying, "Are you sure? You might just not know yet." All I said was, "Yes I'm sure," which took a lot of restraint.

  • Ugh, I'm sorry. It's hard to not say anything when it's all you think about.
  • Thanks ladies - sorry for the late reply took a break from TB for a few days.

This whole process is just awful.  I wouldn't wish this on any one.
  • Been there!! My husbands business partner knows all about our IVF cycles, I guess he didn't relay them to his wife, or she is a total moron (probably the latter) because we were all out to dinner and it was the first week of the school year and she was talking about her kids going off and she started CRYING at the dinner table because she said it was hard for her to watch her FOURTH child ride the bus by himself because her THIRD child went off to middle school on a different bus. No joke she looks at me and says, "you are so lucky you don't have to deal with this". I could feel DH stiffen his body beside me. I smiled and ordered another glass of wine. Freaked out in the cab come. This was 5 days after my 2nd MC/chemical.  Oh and I wanted to scream..LADY it's a frikin BUS RIDE!
