Boy at 12 weeks 3 days?

Hello ladies I need some opinions. I went in for my 12 week appointment and at my office they do an ultrasound every visit to hear the heartbeat and while the tech was doing that she took a little longer and showed between the baby's legs and told me I was expecting a boy. Should I trust her answer so early on? Thanks!

I wouldn't hold it 100%... But I get where she thought that. at 16 weeks with my son, we had the same angle when we were told its a boy... Unless it's the umbilicord perfectly positioned somehow. Interesting.

No, but it's fun. Basically at this point they look for two or three little lines. Two being boy, three being girl. I've had two u/s where the techs saw 3.. Including a doc, which says girl- which is exciting - but not definitive yet!!!!

20 week us will be way more definitive

I thought at 12 weeks boys and girls have the same genitalia. That's why they say angle of the dangle. The girls and boys have different angles. It's still hard to tell because the us has to be at a specific angle.

Unless they are doing a blood test, I would say no. The genitalia looks very similar this early on...sorry.

Totally anecdotal but they told me with my DD at my 12 weeks scan and it was right...but I didn't paint the nursery until much later. I think it's probably still 50/50

@Pintobean39‌ I was used as a test dumby for some radiology students. They said it starts too form as early of 12-13 weeks but it's not really genatalia. It's two lines vs three lines.

I am not sure, but we have a picture at 11 weeks like yours and I seriously wonder if it's the leftovers of the tail the babies have at first. I don't know when that goes away, but that looks really... Shaped? for 13 weeks to me. But I guess you've got a 50-50 shot they're right.
