Frank breech

Im 35 weeks with my third and just found out my little one is frank breech. Her head and feet are up while her bottom is down. Does anyone have any experience with this especially this late in pregnancy? I've never had a c-section and it kinda make me nervous.

Re: Frank breech

  • My little guy is footling breech right now at 33 weeks. I started working with a chiropractor today at my midwife's recommendations. We're doing Webster technique adjustments and moxibustion. I'm hoping it works!

  • My LO was breech this past Monday, but she moves from breech to vertex. She just hasn't settled into the vertex position. I started Webster technique yesterday, and will go again next Tuesday and Friday. I'll also do moxibustion. I do the inversion and open-knee chest exercise a few times a day.

There is still time for your baby to flip so don't lose hope yet. Have you talked with your doctor about seeing a chiropractor or external cephalic version?

Even if your baby doesn't move head down, you can still have a safe delivery and a healthy baby!

I think it's normal to be concerned about a c-section. My advice is to go look at the c-section board here, and do some reading on your own to better educate and prepare yourself.

Go to your next OB appointment prepared with questions and things you want to discuss regarding breech position and c-sections. Who knows, maybe baby will have flipped by then.

  • Relax. Baby can move into position even up til labor. No need to borrow trouble. Ask your OB about natural ways to help baby move.

  • Not heartbroken, just nervous. I've never had any sort of complication with my first 2. Then again this whole pregnancy has been a whirl wind of emotions.

At this stage it's not a complication, the baby has a few weeks to turn still.

  • Go to spinningbabies.com there are a lot or great yoga moves you can do to help get baby in the ideal birthing position. Try to relax. No need to stress at this point in the game. Like pp said there is still room for baby to move, he/she may just need some encouragement from you!
  • I'm 36 weeks with my first baby and be is in the Frank breech position. At 32 weeks, his head was down. That said, I was optimistic that he'd flip again. Since 35 weeks, I've been doing chiropractic care (Webster technique) and moxibustion and massage with the acupuncturist/massage therapist. No luck yet. The OB suggested the ECV, But I'm hesitant to do that because I've heard it's incredibly painful. It's also less likely to work for babies in the Frank breech position and for first time moms. Everyone says there's lots of time for him to flip, but I'm feeling less confident it will happen. A friend had a breech baby and ended up having a c section. She said it wasn't nearly as bad as she anticipated. Good luck!

Does anyone else think Frank Breech sounds like a private eye's name? Sorry that was random. My body only wants to sleep at four hour intervals and my brain is slowly losing its ability to function or make any sort of sense, really... ETA: Saw my doc yesterday for 34 week checkup. She said there is absolutely no need to worry about baby's position right now. There is still PLENTY of time for her to turn...
