Baby sitting super low!

So, little man is sitting really really low.  I mean at least 1-2 inches below the belly button.  Sometimes I worry this kid is going to try and punch his way out early.

For the last two weeks, all my lower areas have been super tight and I have been having some pretty gnarly pain when I walk and move positions.  I have a sono on Monday and plan on talking to my doctor about it, but any other ladies dealing with this, and if so, what have you been doing to deal with the pain?  I think this is just part of being in the third trimester now and I will just have to suck it up for another 12 weeks, but man it blows!!!

Re: Baby sitting super low!

  • I am carrying very low as well. With Ds he was a lot higher, at 7/8 months my bump was almost just under my boobs. with this one she is right above my pelvic bone, if not in it.  I walk around and hold my bump underneath because it is a lot of pressure and feels like she's just going to drop out,. Unlike you though she is head down now so her head is down really low and her feet in my ribs ( so my bump goes above my belly button). But for 2 months before that she was transverse and very low . My OB said its normal, every pregnancy is different the egg attaches to the uterus in different areas at the start of pregnancy. And grows from there. She recommended getting a maternity support belt. I have not got one yet, I did price them at BRU they are about $20.00, at least here in MA they are.

  • He may not stay that way.

At my last dr appt., my little lady was super high - I even measured 4 wks ahead because of it.  She's now settled back down to a more "normal" position.

  • At my last appointment the doc said his head was really low.  It has been for weeks and it is super painful I can't walk more than 10 min at a time and I have lots of pressure.

  • My little guy is still way low too the only thing that kind of helped was a maternity support belt.
  • Just butting my head in here to say that when I read the title of this thread, I thought you got a very good deal on a babysitter.  The actual post makes a lot more sense now!  LOL

  • This LO was super low last week, with so much pressure/intermittent cramping I was convinced I had a UTI or PTL. Went to the OB to get checked out and could clearly see baby doing headstands on my cervix with the occasional punch mixed in. Luckily all is well and he/she seems to have settled in a little higher this week! Hopefully your LO finds a new place to hang out that's more comfortable for you soon!
  • My LO is very low as well. Also sits to one side, so one side very low in my belly feels very heavy. The head is down and feet are up in my ribs, which is fun. I also feel like I need to hold under my belly when walking around sometimes. I have a support belt that i haven't tried yet but i think I may need to soon.

Your post is almost identical to mine. Glad others experience it the same way.

  • Yes! It's annoying. It wasn't like this at this point in my pregnancy last time. Not looking forward to the next twelve weeks.

  • Im having twins, one breach one head down, and they both feel very low. (Although I can feel them very high in my ribs also) but this past week Ive felt a lot of cervix/vag kicks. And sometimes it's painful. I also have thought it felt like they were just going to punch their way out. Ive done some googling and seems like its common for the third tri :-)

  • My little girl is still transverse so I feel her head jabbing out on the left side but she's got what I'm assuming are her feet stretched out and she digs them into my Right Hip and up under my Right Ribs.

The hip pain is enough to take my breath away. I really really want her to turn head down soon. Ouch!

  • My LO is super low as well.  I find that doing a lot of downward dog and other mild inversions is helping in getting him to move up out of my pelvis, if only for a little bit.
