I am at 8 weeks 4 days today and the check list for this week says to get a belly band already. If your pants get snug is that bad for the baby? Can it hurt him/her in any way? Is going a size up in a few weeks for comfort or safety?
I'm pretty sure it's mostly for comfort. Now, I wouldn't want to be 28 weeks and still trying to squeeze into my jeans. There's a thread just below about Belly Bands. Personally, I didn't like the one I had with DS, so I'm skipping it this time around. I lost weight before getting pregnant the last time, so when my current pants get too small, I'm going to wear them, then go to maternity pants.
All about the comfort! I personally can't stand tight pants, so last pregnancy I rocked the rubber band trick for a bit until I was ready for the belly band or maternity jeans
I actually wore a pair of low cut stretch denims through my entire last pregnancy and if I can do that again I totally will.
However, so far...I am already too big for my pants some days (bloat you suck) so I am probably going to get a belly band just to hold my bloat in until the bump arrives. Fingers crossed I carry high again so I can just wear my normal clothes with minimal maternity additions.
Thanks!! I think I'll be sticking with long Tanks and the rubber band trick myself for a while once I need it. I looked for a thread before i posted this, I think my app is glitching out because sometimes I see new posts and then they just disappear! I had a hard time finding this one again for a bit. I'll look for it. Thanks again!
I'm hoping I don't have to buy too much maternity stuff. I have a few superlow jeans that I'm hoping might make it all the way through this pregnancy...or at least into warm weather when I can give up pants completely and live in sundresses till I deliver.
