I had the MaterniT21 test a few weeks ago and received a bill in the mail from Sequenom (the developers/lab of MaterniT21) for over $600. I had verified prior to having the test that it would be covered by my insurance company (Humana) and they did pay a portion but they say I'm responsible for 30% of the charges because the lab is considered "out of network". I tried explaining to them that the test is not something that can be done by a Quest/Labcorp etc. but they said I'd have to appeal the charges. Just curious if anyone else has dealt with this yet?
It's stressing me out!!! I can't possibly be the first person who has had this test and I can't imagine Humana doesn't know that the test has to be processed by Sequenom! So frustrating!
