@FhSTAR81 - Poor Addison. Hopefully she gets over it quickly.
@shaddox16 - Glad you get your doc for sure! And how exciting to know when she'll get here!
@BridgetThoams - I was only 1cm when I went into labor with DS, so hopefully your LO will still decide to come on his own.
Another reason for baby to get here sooner rather than later. I may have to murder someone. So far 3 people are at the head of the line.
Got a call from DD1's teacher today and the first thing she said was "I don't hear any crying. Still no baby?" Considering the logistical gymnastics we'll have to do with the kids, YOU'LL KNOW.
The kids' bus driver has been asking me since SEPTEMBER if I'm dilated yet. I finally gave in and told her I was 1cm just to appease her (I'm actually 4). "Oh, well you could be at 1cm for a month!" No shit, Sherlock. I've been 2cm's or more for 4 weeks already. NOW will you stop asking about my cervix?
We had to meet up with one of DH's coworkers over the weekend before he left. She must have said at least half a dozen times, "You need to pop this baby out!" >:P The she follows it up with "I think I want this baby out more than you!" Thank god I was not facing her when she said that.

Hubby and I just left my appt with my high-risk doc. I feel better about some things, but definitely really worried about others. I'm 36w, 5d.
The good -Placenta moved up, which is awesome, and means I don't need a CS. Yay!!! -Baby was super active -Baby is in a good, head-down position
The neutral -My cervix has not started to shorten yet, so delivery likely not in sight
The bad -Oral thrush still isn't gone and the doc thinks it's really strange. He recommended I switch from Nystatin to Diflucan, and referred me to an infectious disease doc. I just had a CBC a week ago and my cell counts were fine, so who knows what's going on. -My amniotic fluid level was 25 but should be 10-12 at this point. 25 is around the 95% percentile. He said it could be a sign of GD, even though my GD test numbers weeks ago were super low. It could also be a reflection of the amount of Halloween candy I ate this morning, or due to all the sugar in the Nystatin. I'm going to have another ultrasound in a week to see if the fluid has gone down, but was told to watch movement in the meantime in case cord wraps around baby's neck. Googling says this could be a sign of Downs or a birth defect as well =(.
So, most of y'all know that I don't have a great relationship with my dad. My step mom abused us growing up and my dad is in denial that ever happened. Anyways, yesterday was 5 years that my youngest sister and I moved out. We both posted something on Instagram about our anniversary.
Call my dad today to let him know I was being induced Tuesday. We hang up and he sends me a nasty text. Like seriously? I'm about to have a baby and you are trying to bring me down? No thanks.
I just had to explain to DH that the pans on the stove were clean and needed to be put away. He didn't realize that the fact that I can't bend over means I can't put the pans in the bottom cabinet. He never bothered to put two and two together and kept thinking they were dirty and rewashing them. 8-}
@howin23 - hugs to you >:D< Stay off the google machine! All it does is give us more stress. Let the doctors help you and answer any of your questions. Keep us posted on how your next appointment goes.
@smboswell1 - sorry your dad is being a jerk face. Don't let his negativity bring you down. You're about to have a beautiful little boy and you will raise him to be gentleman and treat women with respect. My dad is a jerk too and I keep reminding myself that I am going to teach my son all of the amazing ways to be a loving father, husband, and son. Glad you and your sister got out of that unhealthy environment 5 years ago.
brown blood is a good sign right??? I had my cervix checked today and i feel like if it was blood from that it would be a bit brighter. where as browner blood is something else maybe closer to labor??? IDK if anyone has any insight on this, just thought id ask?
@Emnob28 Yes, I did the NT and got the best results possible on all counts, so haven't been really worried about Downs until now. It's helpful to hear that others are in the same boat, and that your doc thinks you might just carry more fluid. I'm going to cut back sugar over the next week and see what that does...currently watching hubby taste test the 8 candy bars we're giving out for Halloween...none for me sadly.

Just left our dr appt. And here I am at 39w3d and still no cervix check I have no clue if I have made any progress whatsoever. All they did was listen to his HB, which was great, and my BP which was great. But they told me they would let me go all the way to 42 weeks. Which is Nov 17th. I know I shouldn't complain, but I'm so uncomfortable.
Aww sorry to hear. I'm sure it just means everything is going well. Can you ask them about a check next time?
@Kllopez1221 if it makes you feel any better I hugely regret having a cervix check done. She told me I didn't have to and I opted for it because I was curious. I felt awful all day and the cramping and bleeding only just stopped. Max will be here soon enough!!
@smboswell1 ((hugs)) about the situation with your dad. Also yay for getting to meet Beckham on Tuesday!
@FhSTAR81 poor Addison! I had a lot of UTIs as a child, not fun
Feeling better now, thanks for your support ladies! I'm in the bathtub and I'm not feeling so badly now. The cramping went away after I took the dog for a walk, but I was certain all day that I was going to go into labour. Totally declining all cervical checks until I have to.
A dog park friend gave me a whole bag of newborn clothes which is awesome because I had very little newborn size. It's all barely worn stuff from his son born in August. So grateful and happy to have a few more newborn things!
@Kllopez1221 42 weeks!?! :-O hoping baby decides to make the big entrance wayyy before that!
Yep, this is what my doctor does too, lets you go to 42 weeks before induction. (You can opt to get induced sooner if you are overdue, 42 weeks is the max over they let you go.)
DS was born at 40w6d.
This baby is due Nov 8, I'm not going to get my hopes up she'll be here then. DH is betting on Nov 12. I'm kind of thinking Nov 5, but not letting myself get attached to the idea she'll be here any time before Nov 15.

Probably smart. I think I should have just told myself from the beginning I was due a week late so I wouldn't have gotten my hopes up that he might make an appearance before tomorrow, the official EDD.
@kllopez1221- it's funny how practices vary. Mine doesn't even ask you if you want the check, they just start doing it at 38w.
@kllopez1221 I'm 40 weeks Saturday and my midwife hasn't swept and has said that she would really only consider it after 41 weeks 3 days. She was telling me a lot of OBs want to induce with drugs if you're approaching 41 weeks because historically stats showed complications happen after that point. She told me, however, that newest reports actually show a slight dip in problems at 42 weeks and then back up at 43. And for the record, the stats are pretty minuscule; something like 2/2000 that have minor issues at 42 weeks as opposed to 1/2000 at 37-41 weeks
I know it's getting uncomfortable in this final stretch but take comfort in the fact that baby will come when he is ready and this extra time is just more brain development time lol
I failed at operation avoid the penis. Ladies avoid it. It was by far the most awkward uncomfortable time I've experienced with DH. I'm now sore in places that hadn't been sore yet this pregnancy. Worst game of Tetris I've ever participated in.
So I was handing out candy to trick or treaters the other night and this boy (I'm guessing he was about 5) comes up. After I give him his candy, his mom says "what do you say?". He looks at me and says "thank you big lady!" Lol! His mom was mortified, but I assured it it was fine. I am big after all. Who isn't at 9 months pregnant? )

Guys, @Maelara is legit. She posted a pic of herself disgusted by socks, no better proof than that
Random question re: kick counts. I haven't discussed them with my doctor as they don't feel them necessary but I've been trying to do some today because LO isn't as active as usual. The rule is 10 in an hour right? I've gotten that twice now (earlier this afternoon and this last hour), but it's hard not to worry because of my BP issues. I wake up at 6am and LO is usually active all morning, I didn't feel a thing until after noon. Anyone else on the kick counts regime have any advice for me? Should I call or am I being a worrywart?
If I do kick counts, I chug some cold water or juice, and then lay on my back. I think you're supposed to time how long it takes you to feel 10 movements. (And movements can be tiny too, not just big kicks). If you don't feel 10 within 2 hours you're supposed to call, but personally if I didn't feel 10 within an hour or so I would call but that's based on my baby. She's super active always. Your baby might be more mellow. hope you feel better and get baby moving soon!

My midwife said 6 in 2 hours...taking into account that baby has deep sleep about 75 minutes at a time and that might take up a big chunk of the 2 hour counting window
Coming in late to share my good news. Had my appointment with the high risk doc my mw wanted me to see for my gestational hypertension. I was worried my lab work would be abnormal and I'd be switched to pre-e or that even it was all normal, he would still be pushing me to induce.
All lab work was good and baby and placenta looked great on ultrasound. The doc was totally on the same page as me and wasn't looking to induce at all. I go back to the mw next week! He was also pretty comfortable with letting me go past 39 weeks of all looked good. I really don't want to be induced, so that was music to my ears!
Is it weird that I just got a bug to go play some slots? I was talking with a coworker who just went gambling and I feel like DH and I should go since we won't really be able to after baby comes. Do pregant women gamble?
@kyliedaniellexx my OB has never had me do kick counts. She says that you should feel several active periods in a day, but that the baby can sleep up to two hours at once now. She said that you should notice LO being especially active after dinner when you sit down to watch tv or whatever. It sounds like your LO is pretty good! Reading those loss stories is sometimes not a great idea. But yay for a great thrift shop find! I've gotten most of my baby and breastfeeding books for a dollar or two at thrift stores. It's such a great feeling!

OMG!! I wish we lived closer so I could go with you!! I LOVE to gamble! I won a good amount of money on our cruise this summer.

Such mixed emotions right now.

Exhaustion. That's how.
Me, in my head: "What?? Is he on the bump? What is he doing on the bump?? Is Maelara actually a 17 year old boy catfishing us??? IS HE SPYING ON ME???
Then I realized he was just doing a google image search for 'day of the dead' masks for Spanish. Pregnancy brain hurts.
