We just got back from PT (non EI related). I feel like we are starting to get some answers, and have a game plan to fix the problem.
We plan to get her a foot orthotic to correct her metatarsus abductis. Something that she was born with but only resolved on one foot. We have to hope the 1st jerk hole Ortho will write a script for one. Otherwise we can't see the new Ortho until Dec 4th.
She basically has a 30 degree angle in the middle of her foot from the outside. Anything over 20 degrees is considered significant. On top of that they think she has a femoral anti version and possible tibial torsion. These are all things that generally resolve themselves, but put all 3 problems in the same leg and they don't. Plus she is doing very little weigh bearing, which is what is needed to get it resolved.
We are very lucky her foot is still flexible. Usually when a child is born with this condition parents are given stretching exercises, but I never was.
If we can keep her foot flexible and get her in a brace. Then use tape to get her to use her muscles properly to engage her hips. I think we will finally be able to help her!!!!!
The PT thinks that she was probably stuck in my pelvis a lot longer then we realized. She was born with her scalp rubbed bloody from rubbing up against my pelvis bone they think. The side that she could move resolved on its own but the side that was squished is the side not resolving.
TLDR - Delaney has a 30 degree bend in her foot that has not resolved. She most likely has 3 misalignments in her right leg from being squished in my belly. Her foot is still flexible so that is good news. With PT and bracing we should be able to get it resolved with time. I also learned that I was right from the beginning and her doctors can suck it!!!!!

Re: Update on our Hooked Foot Saga
1) She is adorable.
2) It sounds like you are getting somewhere with the ortho and PT. Great news.
Praying that the new brace helps your LO!
