Houston Babies

Recommend your wrap.

I know i may have asked this before, but can you please tell me again what you have and the pros and cons??? my DS will be 4 when the baby is born and is way out of stroller stage as it is, I'm looking for something convientet that i can leave on me, and easily take the baby in and out of when running quick errands.

Re: Recommend your wrap.

  • For that purpose, I like the baby k'tan.  It's fitted so be sure to get the right size(this may be tricky if you're busty like myself).  I thought for sure I'd be a large b/c of the girls, but the girl at womans work sold me a medium.  I'm glad I tried it on there first but it does stretch as you wear it.  I toss it in the wash after putting DS down for the night so I have a nice clean, snug one every morning.  Once it gets too loose, it's harder on your back.

I love it because it's alot like the moby without all the wrapping.  It is two rings of fabric that you put over your head fastened together by another small ring.  Then you weave it onto yourself kind of pretzel like.  You can easily leave it on while taking baby in and out.  DS likes it because any fabric without a little give sends him to cranky town when I have his legs folden up inside.

Of course kat in the hat swears by the moby and wraps it on before leaving the house and keeps it on.  So that's another option.

I saw ucalum93's baby k'tan and I am so getting one when I have another baby.  I loved my Moby, but this one looks so much easier!

  • I have the zolowear...  It's super easy to use one you get the hang of it...  I plan to us it A LOT with #2...
  • DD and I love our sleepy wrap:

I place her in the wrap and am able to work on the computer, tidy up, do laundry, etc.  This wrap is very similar to the Moby.

     HTH.

well, if you want to me more confused, let me add this: they are all user friendly in different ways. so much is personal preference. however, they all also have a learning curve. i know no person who has picked up any wrap/sling/carrier and got it on the 1st or even 5th try... so, just be prepared to have whatever you pick take some getting used to. :)
