The lasting effects of progestrone... ***Warning TMI***

HI Everyone!  I apologize in advance for the TMI I'm about to unload.... This was my first cycle using progestrone gel.  The nurse warned that some of the side effects would be a waxy type build up, in which case I should just gently attempt to remove with my finger in the shower.  I figured I would feel if there was said build up, so I never checked.  DH and I had sex last night, and on top of it not being very comfortable as it was dryer than normal, there were traces of wax on him afterwards!  This morning when I showered, I did some digging (literally!) and was appauld at how much build up I removed!  As if this whole process wasn't bad enough, now this?! Has anyone experienced this? Do you have any tricks of getting rid of the build up?

IUI 3 & 4-  50 mg Clomid+ Trigger = BFN

    Thank you for your comments.  I just feel I can't get in far enough to get it all... and I'm worried poking around in there daily might cause an infection... Hopefully it won't be as bad tomorrow

    oh the joy of progesterone. Yes, it can build up.  A blood test once showed my progesterone levels were through the roof, so I was advised to try to remove the build up.  I tried but actually got so freaked out by it that I just stopped and hoped for the best.  It wound up fine.

    Some other things I wish someone had told me before i started taking it:

    - It can cause wicked cramps during your period.  Have advil on hand.  I discovered this at 3am while traveling.  I woke up from the pain and was so scared something was wrong I called DH.  

    - Sorry if this is TMI: but I've also noticed it can cause changes in what actually comes out during my period.  Before, it was more liquid, and now it actually looks mebrane-y

    -It can cause you to be really emotional.  My last month, at the end of the 2 weeks on it, I was crying at the drop of a hat.  I've also heard it makes some women moody.

    -It cause extreme insomnia for me.  So much so that they had to adjust what I was taking.  I asked the nurse, who said this was rare, it usually makes people tired.  Go figure

    Oh man that is crazy! I never used the gel, only the supossitiories and those were really frustrating. 

    Me: 33, DH: 32

    TTC: 2 years
    Fertility blood tests all normal
    Tilted uterus
    3 day ultrasound 17 follicles
    HSG: 11/13/13- tubes open
    DH SA: SUPER sperm (145 million, 84% motility, 22% morphology)
    All infection disease and immunity blood tests NORMAL
    FIRST IUI May 2014: 100 mg Clomid days 5-9, third ultrasound CD 13 revealed four follicles 27, 24 and 20 and 13mm. Trigger shot May 28 with IUI May 29 and 30 (fingers crossed) - BFN started spotting 11DPO :(

    IUI #2 B2B 6/23 and 6/24, three mature eggs and 130 million sperm! FX this is the month!  BFN 7/8

    3rd cycle benched due to cysts - TI with OPK tests -  BFN

    3rd mediated cycle: Clomid+Trigger+TI  (three follies left side, one on right as usual....what the hell right ovary get it together and produce some damn follicles!) 7DPO progesterone level 43 with NO suppositories YAY for a natural strong ovulation. Beta canceled started spotting 13DPO - Third time is not a CHARM! 14 day cycle WTF! Everything looks normal - RE wants to start injectables next cycle so this cycle I'm benched

    Officially benched until March....but still plan on trying the baking soda douche due to my excessive and thick CM

    JANUARY SIGGY CHALLENGE...This is so me!

    Love this man....he was so before his time in his thoughts and ideas about the world....been obsessed about him lately bringing it back to the early 90s.

    I was on the suppositories before- Crinone. I was finger swiping every night bc the discharge was insane! I mentioned it to the nurse and she said "who told you to wipe it out?". Apparently, I wasn't supposed to be taking it out?!? Who can live like that with gloppy mess everywhere...SMH. It sucks.

    Wow is that just for the gel? I've been using the suppositories and I never noticed any build-up - hopefully I'm not just oblivious! I thought the suppositories were gross but this sounds much worse.

    Married in 2011, NTNP until early 2012, TTC since early 2012

    My husband was diagnosed with state IV colon cancer in 2009. Surgery and six rounds of chemo left him in remission (yay!) but with low testosterone. He took Androgel for two years starting in Jan 2011.
    -SA in Jan 2013: big fat zero; stopped Androgel
    -varicocelectomy in June 2013
    -SA in Dec 2013: 23mil/ml, really low morph
    -SA in March 2014: Count doubled! Morphology apparently no longer an issue.

    Treatments:
    April 2014: hysteroscopy
    June 2014: TI (clomid/bravelle/ovidrel: 2 folliclces) = BFN
    July 2014: IUI#1 (clomid/bravelle/ovidrel; 1 follicle, 23mil post-wash) = BFN
    August 2014: IUI#2 (clomid/bravelle/ovidrel; 1 follicle, 43mil post-wash) = BFN
    September 2014: IUI#3 (clomid/bravelle/ovidrel; 2 follicles, 15mil post-wash) = BFN
    October 2014: IUI#4 (clomid/bravelle/ovidrel; 1-2 follicles, 12mil post-wash) = BFN
    November 2014: IUI#5 (clomid/bravelle/ovidrel: 1 follicle, 23mil post-wash) = BFN
    December 2014: IUI#6 (gonal-f/ovidrel): 2 follicles, 55mil post-wash) = ???

    This all sounds wonderful, NOT! I will be on the suppositories after my IUI in a few week. My baseline is pretty much an emotional basket case during PMS time. I can't wait to see what progesterone does to me. And the build up too? Disgusting. I can't wait. :)

    I wanted to let you all know, if you didn't read my post a few months ago that I had a VERY extreme mental reaction going off progesterone. After my negative BETA I was told to stop taking my progesterone suppositories and I went totally mental. I woke up at 4 in the morning totally awake and convinced the government was going to come after me because of my home loan. I called my DH, who was out of town, probably 30 times that day freaking out. I pretty much had a manic episode. I talked to my psychiatrist and he wasn't too concerned since it only lasted 1 day, but holy shit was I a nutcase. I have anxiety and depression so I think stopping the progesterone suddenly did something to my brain. I did some research and there apparently is some connection between progesterone levels and depression so who knows...

    If you are on progesterone and have anxiety or depression just watch for signs if you are told to go off it :)
