Bare bones this week because I'm coming back from vacay (and need another vacay from it).

Welcome to the new high risk mommas; I promise I'll add you to the list for next week's checkin.

Special T&P's to all our bed-rest and PTL mommas!

All: Let us know how you're doing, milestones, doc appts, rants/raves, etc.

Re: Weekly High-Risk Checkin -- Week of Oct 27th

  • I'm new to this check in. Gestational Hypertension. Still working but checking my pressure frequently. Probable induction at 37 weeks unless BP improves.
I have an US and appt this week to check me, baby and for protien in my urine. I've been having lots of Braxton hicks, pelvic pressure and heartburn.

  • Spent the weekend in bed again. Kidney stone led to a bladder infection. Had to miss DD1 trunk or treat because the pain was so intense. Went in yesterday (earlier than planned) for another NST but still seem to be ok. MW is holding out that we'll make it to at least 36 weeks. I'm 34+2 right now. In good news, I just passed my stone this morning! So at least that's one thing less to worry about. Woot woot!
  • Hope you enjoyed your vacation @haleyusf!

35+1 today, feeling pretty super pregnant. I have an appointment tomorrow to check my cervix again and get my strep b test. Tomorrow we will be having the discussion to figure out if/when I might need an RCS or if we will be able to try for vaginal birth. The bigger my uterus gets, the more it affects my adhesions and the pain is getting pretty bad. Sometimes when little nugget kicks in the direction of my ovaries it brings tears to my eyes. Besides that I'm actually feeling pretty good lately, my energy level has been up and I've been pretty happy and bubbly. I hope everyone has a great week!

  • 31 weeks. Had appt with my OB yesterday. Everything looks fine, baby is still a little small so I have another ultra sound within the week. He still wants to monitor my Vasa Previa, even though the High Risk don't so I also get the lovely internal ultra sound a couple more times. I'm really hoping the baby measures well this next ultra sound. I am starting to hate doctors appts. becuase I just leave worried, or anxious, and I don't sleep well the night before them...

    2. Any appnt update or blood work? None this week but last week got my TDap
    3. How are you Sxs? Losing my plug and spotting so *eye roll* there's the fun of that, but other wise nothing much going on (thank goodness)

  • 32wks5days & feeling so blessed that bed rest has not been discussed at any of my appointments. My LO is measuring a little small which I'm kind of worried about but doc isn't too concerned yet. I have BH contractions daily but nothing more painful than those thankfully. I have swelling & lots of it which make my feet hurt. Also some weird nerve sensitivity in my forehead which the doc thinks is a side affect of swelling/more blood pumping through the body. Next Friday is my next appointment & I'll be 34wks so hoping they measure baby again & I think the tech said they will test for BV. Doc did mention since I'm 40 he will not let me go much past my due date which is December 18th so if I don't go naturally I'll have to be induced right around that date. I can't imagine I'm going to make it that long but one never knows! T&Ps to all who are on bed rest or in pain due to various complications!

33+2. Feeling ok.  Just really tired and exhausted by the weekly round of 4 or more doctor's appointments per week that I have to endure to the end of this pregnancy.  Same old same old.  It's just very wearing.  My bp was up quite a bit last week.  So far this week, nothing has been said, but I'm very concerned that it's just a matter of time until I have to do a protein test and all the other things that accompany high bp.  I had PIH with my first pregnancy and was really hoping to avoid it this time.  My bp has been awesome up until last week so I will admit to being a little concerned and peeved that it's come up.

  • I had my baby girl!!!! On Thursday my water broke when I sneezed (seriously!) they kept me on bedrest until labor started on its own Friday night about 10pm when I was still 6cm. I basically went straight into transition, pushed for 20-30 min and had her unmedicated at 110am Saturday. She weighed 4.6lbs, 17 inches long. We named her Leah Faith. She was 32+3 weeks at birth. I was able to hold her for a minute before she went to the nicu. She needed some cpap to start and was almost intubated but she fixed herself just before the procedure and has been on no respiratory support since. Since birth she has needed phototherapy and is getting my milk and donor milk thru an NG tube. She is having apnea spells and is being closely monitored. All normal preemie issues tat will resolve with time. Otherwise She is feisty and doing great. As I type I am enjoying skin to skin with my little peanut. :)
  • Congrat's @sdudley22 on a healthy baby girl! I'm now terrified to sneeze but at least she's doing well now and getting that cuddle time in with you!
  • Congratulations, @sdudley22!!!
