We bought a glider so it is easy to rock the baby to sleep. Really depends on your style and body type as well. I had to make sure the glider was wide and tall enough for my husband while at the same time match the nursery.
While I was at buy buy baby registering, they have these fancy chairs and the worker said that they are the most uncomfortable and expensive chairs. So, best bet is to go try them out. Also while you are there, ask for the lead time on the chair. If you get a customized chair it can have a 3 month lead time prior to delivery.
I have a Dutailier glider rocker and absolutely love it! Still use it to rock/read stories to DS before nap and bedtime.
I agree with the suggestion to go try them out - some of the chairs that have more of a gliding movement make me motion sick, so I needed one that moved more like a rocking chair.
Also I'd suggest not getting a really light color since it will likely get spit up/peed/pooped/vomited on at some point.

I loved our glider rocker... but we got a cheaper one (Storkcraft) as a gift and I and would HIGHLY recommend spending the extra money. 5 months after DD was born one of the springs broke and the cushion is pretty thin. I nursed in it all the time, and it still gets use, but I still wish it was of better quality.
