CHRISTMAS!! I have a really hard time containing and limiting myself when it comes to buying presents for people especially my kids. I love to give gifts and shopping and seeing all the things so nicely wrapped under the tree! This year we have agreed that were only buying for our kids not each other so I feel like that will make me want to get them more!
DS1 has a birthday between now and then which makes it alittle harder to think of things he needs and wants. So...
- How many gifts do you plan on getting for LO or each LO if you have more then one?
- Have you thought of things that you will be getting for LO yet? This is especially hard for us being second time parents because we have everything from Ds1 I feel like Ds2 doesn't need anything really because we have it already.
- Have you started shopping yet?
- What do you REALLY want for yourself?
- Do you and DH exchange gifts or do anything?
Re: 57 days until.....
** We don't buy based on number of gifts, but we will probably do one 'main' gift and a few 'fun' things.
- Have you thought of things that you will be getting for LO yet? This is especially hard for us being second time parents because we have everything from Ds1 I feel like Ds2 doesn't need anything really because we have it already.
** Same, the boys are only 15.5 months apart, so LO plays with a lots of DS1's stuff already.
LO has very little need for clothes either (ATM).
- Have you started shopping yet?
** We have picked up an item or two when we saw them. They are more 'novelty' items. Little things for the kids and my sister.
- What do you REALLY want for yourself?
** Nothing. Same as every year. (I know I won't get it)
- Do you and DH exchange gifts or do anything?
** We buy ourselves something we've been wanting or needing.
Before DS1 was born we bought our good camera as an 'early' gift (3 months early so we could practice using it before he was born. Last year we bought a new freezer.
This year, some nice new bedding.
I also usually book us for a couple days away in a hotel somewhere, but not usually at Christmas time.
**DS1's birthday is next month, so we are having trouble figuring out what to get him ourselves, as well as telling everyone else (when they ask).
We have ideas on what to get for M. My problem has always been that I give gifts early if I have them, so that will need to change this year.
We just bought a house and close ight after Christmas so Hubs and I are not getting gifts for each other and just focusing on M's first Christmas. She loves peek-a-boo so we are getting her peek-a-boo Elmo, the very hungry caterpillar jack in the box, and the Combi Purple Walker. We also want to get Christmas Jammie's and books, but that'll be it this year (we went looking at BRU last night and already gave her two of the smaller toys we picked up).
I love Christmas !! So does my family, my mom will actually be decorating next weekend ( were those people haha ).
There's a couple things I want to get LO but we aren't spending too much. I know our family's will be spending a lot . And I feel like at this point she wont know the difference .
I hope DH and I wont buy each other anything . We have other expenses with just buying a house and having DD that moneys a little tighter then it normally is..
The only thing I want for Christmas is more stuff for our house. Our walls are lacking some décor.

- Have you thought of things that you will be getting for LO? I decided in the summer we are getting her the crawl around car
- Have you started shopping yet? I have some socks I got on clearance at target from the $1 section for her stocking but that's it
- What do you REALLY want for yourself?
A camera lens for the camera I'm buying myself
- Do you and DH exchange gifts or do anything?
Yes we do, but idk what we will get eachother this year. Maybe a movie to watch on xmas since we will just be staying home with the 3 of us
We only buy for my niece and LO. I will plan on spending around 50 for Niece since she has her 3rd b-day in the beginning of December. I think I am going to get her a vintage Cabbage Patch Doll.
For LO I think I will limit myself to 100. She really likes the light up toys so maybe Violet puppy pal, twilight turtle for her crib, and the having a ball count -n- roll buggie.
DH and I don't get each other big gifts usually under 30$. I plan on doing a photo shoot close to Christmas then giving the parentals, my brother and the great grandparents pictures of LO. SIL and I may go in together and make a calendar (she already does one of niece, so may just add some of LO alone and with niece).
My family gets upset at us because we won't tell them what we want 'for Christmas'. I don't want stuff for Christmas. I want/need stuff for every day life, so I buy it...when I want/need it.
Edit:fix typo
- How many gifts do you plan on getting for LO or each LO if you have more then one?
Even though I love Christmas, we won't be getting DS very much. I already got him Christmas PJ's to open and wear on Christmas Eve. Then, we will do Something to read, something to wear, and something he needs for the morning of. I may get a couple of things for his stocking.
- Have you thought of things that you will be getting for LO yet? See above, and the something he needs will probably be diapers. He will have more fun ripping the paper, and playing in the diaper box than any toy. He's also the first grandchild for my parents so, I think we are going to leave the shopping for toys up to them!
- Have you started shopping yet? Just the p.j.s for Christmas Eve
- What do you REALLY want for yourself? I WANT a lot of things, new countertops, new car, new king size bed. But, I think I'd rather save it since I'm not working.
- Do you and DH exchange gifts or do anything? We used to, but like I said, I'd rather save money. We will probably just spend the day together watching movies, cooking, and hopefully a fire if it's cold enough.
- How many gifts do you plan on getting for LO or each LO if you have more then one?
We haven't really thought about it yet. I probably should discuss with DH. I know we don't want to spoil her. And we have a huge Italian family on my dad's side, who will all probably be getting her stuff (not to mention the grandparents). The want/need/wear/read sounds like a neat idea
- Have you thought of things that you will be getting for LO yet?
I have a wishlist on Amazon for LO. As a PP mentioned, we tend to get things as we feel we need them, so it's more a "things we might want to get LO at some point" than a Christmas list specifically.
- Have you started shopping yet?
Not yet.
- What do you REALLY want for yourself?
Not much really. I really need some new clothes since I still don't completely fit into all my pre-pregnancy clothes. I'd love a clean house too :-P
- Do you and DH exchange gifts or do anything?
We exchange gifts, although I imagine it will be a bit smaller this year.
We are just getting LO a radio flyer wagon. We will also wrap clothes, socks, and headbands that don't fit her yet. She will get plenty of toys from grandparents so we aren't buying any ourselves.
I told my husband I want aquamarine jewelry (earrings, necklace, or a ring that looks like a wedding band).
I am buying my husband clothes because he never buys any for himself. I usually get a lot of polos from TJ Max.
We are on a budget so we aren't going crazy.
- How many gifts do you plan on getting for LO or each LO if you have more then one? One or two big ones then a few smaller gifts. I know the grandparents will want to spoil her (my parents spoil us way too much and we're adults so I can't imagine what they'll want to give kinley.)
- Have you thought of things that you will be getting for LO yet? I want to get her a toy kitchen. Other than that no.
- Have you started shopping yet? Nope. I'm a procrastinator. I'll start in a couple weeks.
- What do you REALLY want for yourself? A new tattoo. And a new waffle iron.
- Do you and DH exchange gifts or do anything? Usually we spend $100ish on each other. But DH bought himself a cross bow last month, which is his Xmas gift. I'll probably still get him something smaller.
Born 2/4/14
Weighing 6 lbs 10 oz and 20 inches long
Probably a good handful but due to age nothing extravagant/expensive
- Have you thought of things that you will be getting for LO yet? This is especially hard for us being second time parents because we have everything from Ds1 I feel like Ds2 doesn't need anything really because we have it already.
Toys, books
Something like this:

- Have you started shopping yet? Hells to the no- What do you REALLY want for yourself? High thread count, deep pocket sheets for the bed, brown boots a +hpt
- Do you and DH exchange gifts or do anything? not really, we usually get something we can both use or for the home, last year we got a new camera
