GTKY: what will baby be like?

Ok.. We are going to work under the assumption that the crazy F15 babies get their act together and we have no more complications. So.. Happy healthy babies is #1...

But.. Have you started to wonder what they will look like? (Please no 3-D ultrasounds here). I find myself looking at FI and myself and wonder what features he will get.

So are there any features you think would be cool if your LO picks up from either you or your partner? Your hair? His eyes? Or even his adventurous spirit and your love of literature?

FI is a ginger (strawberry blonde) and we both are freckly so we already know this poor dude will be forever chased around by me and some sunscreen...

I wonder if he will have red hair (it runs in my family a little as well). I also wonder who's eyes he will have.. FI has bright blue and I have bright green! FI is 5'10" and I'm 5'5 but the men in my family are all 6'1" so I wonder where he will fall

I also have the thickest hair and was born with a black Afro (no joke) so I'll be shocked if he comes our hairless. I do hope he has my hair.. FI's is fine now but it will thin out at some point. I hope he has FI's muscle definition

a future girl would appreciate the broad shoulders, nice back and amazing arm thing (that feels a little creepy to say)...

I hope he has his math/analytical skills. And his efficiency in everything. But I hope he has my creativity and silliness. Also my ability to forgive and see "the bigger picture."

DH and I a both slightly above average height. I've got curly brown hair, he had thick blonde hair before he lost the great hair battle and embraced his baldness.
But, we both have gorgeous blue/green eyes. I've got a splattering of freckles across my nose that really pop out in the summer time.
I'm picturing little curly-haired, blue-eyed pixies. Mischievous pixies, no doubt.

Gosh I'm so curious! Obviously she will not have any features of mine since I used a donor and we were never allowed to see any kind of picture. I have her profile though. Green eyes, petite, brownish hair. Oh my my mind is blank.

MH has beautiful eyes and I love his sense of humor. I want her to have my personality though!! He is too quiet. Too early for me to think

When we had DS, we were hoping that the would have DH's ears. They are big, but something very identifiable - it was actually the first thing I asked after my c/s. His time around, we are hoping that our daughter does not get them. We just cannot picture his grandfather's giant ears on a girl.

We are assuming that she will be blonde, at least for a while. Both of us started out blonde before we turned brown and DS is blonde. I'm hoping she has my eyes. DS has the most beautiful blue eyes and everyone always comments on them, I'd love for her to have that too.

As far as height, I'm short but DH is tall so that is really a crapshoot.

Our babies will likely end up with dark hair, but DH was blonde as a child and we both have a large number of blondes in our families. Two of his sisters are strawberry blonde, almost red, so who knows! They will most likely have wavy hair. They will probably have light brown eyes.

The joke in our house is that I won't have trouble birthing their heads, it will be their asses. DH and I both have big butts and we cannot lie. We joke that even as twin preemies, they may need size 2 diapers just because of their giant asses........

I always joke that our baby is going to be ass and legs! I like to think that my ass is bubbly and powerful. My H 6'6 and is a rugby player and has the most gorgeous muscular legs and ass!

Joking aside I'm all about nurture v nature so if I want baby to chill out a bit I'm going to have to learn to relax

(or hope he/she takes after H).

I'll second holachicaaa with the darker/olive skin. I sort of have that olive skin that tans nicely and rarely burns, but DH's is definitely mega dark - he has some native American in him. I like being tan for shallow/cosmetic reasons, but for LO it's more about the lower dermatology risks. He will wear sunscreen either way!

DH and I are both athletic, and come from athletic genes, so we bet our offspring will be the same.

I have this feeling that his overall looks will resemble mine over his dad's, but I hope he gets DH's super thick black hair and not my lifeless thin mop!

Lastly, I hope DH passes on the traits of strong work ethic and unfaltering love for his mama!

We talk about this all the time! It's so fun to guess and speculate, but genes are a funny, funny thing! Can't wait to see how right (or wrong!!) we are!

But she'll have dark hair, we're all dark on both sides. I have curls and DH has.....bristles? So who knows what she'll have.

I hope hope hope she gets DH's gorgeous, perfectly straight long nose. It's one of his best features. Mine is crooked and was too big for my face for about 20 years.

I have green eyes, DH has light brown but EVERY other member of his immediate family is blue so I'm hoping she gets both light eye genes! My dad and brothers are chocolate brown though so perhaps not.

Her first word will be fuck. But hopefully shell have DH's patience, and both our love of reading and athleticism! She's going to be the best....

Well I have no clue what he will look like. I have dark hair, very pale (not the gorgeous olive skin tone that my mom and brothers have) DH is a slim 5'10, has green eyes and light brown hair ( with more white than he would like to admit.)

My daughters have very different features. My oldest has thick brown hair and hazel eyes. She's 5'2 1/4 and has size 9 women's feet all the age of 13, I'm not sure how much taller she is going to get, but I know she is going to pass me pretty soon. Everybody thinks she looks like me, but I don't really see it. I do see my brother Mike in her sometimes, in the way she looks and smiles at me though. My youngest is about to turn 10 and is still in a size 6/7. She is very petite and has blonde hair that shimmers gold in the sun. She has these bright blue eyes and the only resemblance to me is the cataracts that we were both born with.

Its anyones guess what this LO will look like and who he will resemble!

Tall our child will be tall there is little doubt about that and she apparently already has long legs like her momma. Pay back for the torture I caused my mom trying to find pants that fit me.

Other than that it is hard to say. H has pretty curly dark hair and I have fine blonde hair so there is a huge question mark what her hair will be like.

We've talked about this. dh hope he looks like me and i think he'll look like dh because dh is a carbon copy of his father.

dh wants him to have my eyes and butt chin.

im hoping he has my chin, dhs eyes, and my butt. dh seriously has no butt its flat as a pancake. i also hope this kid gets my build not dhs. he has short legs and and a really long torso, i have long legs and a pretty average torso.

and as far as hair it will probably be dark but i hope a an adult he doesbt bald like dh.

I'm kind of curious to hear from @yesiknowwhatcausesthat‌ about how similar (or not) siblings look. DS has those same gorgeous brown eyes that DH has, he's got my curly hair, and the face is a real mix. But I've heard that siblings can look night and day different... Or like twins... So still in the curious boat with you ladies!

hmmm I have thought about this. DH and I both have brown hair, but our eye color is different. His eye color is a piercing baby blue, they are sooooo beautiful. Mine are a mix between yellow and green, gross haha. So I hope baby boy gets our brown hair and his eye color. I think my husband is absolutely gorgeous, so I would be happy if our son looked the same

I hope he has my nose and DH chin. DH has a dimple in his chin

all in all, I am jsut so excited to meet him! There is a chance he could be born with blond hair since DH had blonde hair when he was born. Mine has always been super curly and auburn.

Husband wants her to be my twin, down to my beauty mark above my lip (he calls her theoretical one a "mini-Mommy beauty mark"). She may have wavy or curly hair since we both have it. Maybe a hint of red from his side of the family? I love his pale blue eyes and hope she has them. She won't be tall or short, we've both pretty average.

Personality-wise, I hope she's more outgoing than we are. Apparently my husband was an extroverted ham until his father squashed his personality. She'll probably have a cutting wit. She'll have a temper thanks to my side of the family. I can already see her side-eyes.

I can't wait to get to know her.

DD has my blue eyes and DH's lips. I'm hopeful that trend continues for LO because it makes for some fierce features! Her hair is also a light brown color, but DH had bleach blonde hair until he was 5. Then part of my wonders if she'll look nothing like her sister! who knows

I really hope she gets my skin tone and complexion. I have dark olive skin and dark hair with green eyes (mexican, native american, irish). DH has brown hair, light skin, brown eyes (irish and french). I look exactly like my sister and mom so I am thinking she will get a good mix of all that. DH looks like his mom mostly but I hope DD ends up being taller than his side of the family. I am 5' 6 with long legs and he is 5' 10 with a long torso so who knows what'll happen.

I really hope she gets our outgoing personalities, but I hope she also has my temperament and DH's compassion. Also, I pray she gets DH's teeth.

God I hope the baby doesn't have my husbands nose if its is a girl. My husband has a great nose for a guy, but his sister has the same nose and it looks terrible on a girl. I hope it doesn't have my bum chin but based on ultrasounds I think it will. Honestly, the genes in my family are quite strong and I predict baby will look a lot like me, all babies in my family seem to take after my side. Which is ok, we a good looking bunch. LOL.

Red hair runs in my family. We know one of our kids will probably be a ginger. B has white blonde hair, so it's not going to be him.

DH has beautiful, long eyelashes. Claire had them, B has them, so I'm hoping this one gets them also.

DH and I both have tall foreheads, big noses, and fair skin, so our kids are doomed that way.

We're hoping she's easy-going and loves music like the 3 of us.

Seriously though, I'm guessing she'll have blonde hair, blue (maybe eventually green) eyes and fair skin. Tall and scrawny are traits of both my DH and myself.

I hope she gets my nose.. or any feature of mine really, since DS is ALL DH.

Personality wise, I hope she's outgoing and sweet like her brother and grows up to be polite and well-rounded. I would love for her to have my athletic ability.

I am thinking this baby with be DS 2.0. DS has DH smile and my eyes. When he was younger, most people said he looked like DH. Now more people say he looks like me.

I am pretty sure this baby will have dark hair, but not much of it for a while. I was a blad baby and so was DS. Probably dark eyes too. DH has dark brown eyes, while I have hazel. Once again I hope he gets DH smile and my eyes. I think DS is pretty cute so I'll take another just like him.

Evie is totally my mini-me, so it would be fun if this little girl comes out like daddy. I'm especially interested to see if she has blonde hair, that would be so fun!! DH was blonde as a child and outgrew it, but we both have siblings who remained blonde as adults. Not much chance for curly hair, but that would be fun too.

Oh! This is fun! We talk about this all the time.

DH really wants her to have my eyes. I have rather large eyes. We both have hazel eyes so odds are she'll have that or blue. I was born a strawberry blond and DH blond so we'll be interested to see if she comes out blond or dark. We joke that she'll be cursed with a butt since we both have one. Neither of us are really all that tall. He hopes that she has my athleticism, but he's a natural runner so I hope she gets that at least.

I really hope she gets my nose. Her father has a huge nose, that looks great on him, but on a girl...meh. I'm short and he's 6ft, so hopefully she'll be average in height. We both have olive complexions and great full lips, so she'll most likely get those 2 things! As far personality goes, well we are both stubborn. We are both pisces and it's looking like she'll be a pisces too. She'll be creative and emotional and raised on sad bastard music. Which we are both very pleased about. Bring on the Joni Mitchell and Conor Oberst.

We used a donor too, obvs. However the childhood pic looks sooo much like DW's and his personality traits supposedly are like her too.

I hope he doesn't get my widow's peak. or my passing out/vaso vagul.

I hope he gets DW's personality/ ability to listen to people & give advice.

We have a similar sense of humor, so he better get that!

I hope he is outgoing and independent

I want him to be smart or at least TRY to learn stuff. not be lazy.

I hope he can tan, not burn like me.

I hope Lucas will look more like me but with DH's build. I'm a petite 5'2" and he's 6'1".

I love my DH's full lips (Angelina Jolie's ain't got nothing on my DH), but that's a risky look. I'm expecting a good head of hair on my baby since we both have dark thick hair. My eyes are so dark that most people have commented on how 'fake' they look, cos they can't see my pupils, I hope the kiddo will have DH's light brown eyes, but his eyes are small, I wonder if there's any possibility of the baby getting my eye shape but his eye color.

We sit around and talk about features from each other that we hope they get (and don't get!)

DH and I agree we hope she doesn't have his nose. It works really well on him but it would be too much for a little girl! He loves the shape of my eyes and I hope she get the color of his.

Gingers run on both sides of the family so we keep joking that this one may come out w a blazing head of red hair, which would be a-ok w us!

I think she's got his personality, she's been such a good sport every time we've gone to doctor. She's easy to find in there and was totally content to do whatever the u/s tech wanted her to do. I'm a bit of a hot head (but I cool off quickly!) so I do hope she gets more of his laid back attitude.

Unfortunately, we also know that DD will have huge feet and untamable hair!

DH and I are really curious to see what this little girl will look like because with our twins, one girl looks like me (Asian) and the other looks like DH (Caucasian). As an infant, DD1 looked just like DH when he was a baby, and she's really analytical and observant of everything just like he was as a child (still is). DD2 has my scowl down to a T. It's hilarious. She scowls at strangers if they look at her too long, and of course this just makes them and me laugh. I used to scowl the exact same way when I was little, so I know where she gets this from! She's very compliant, which makes me credit her Asian (if only half) heritage.

We know Sakura will be her own unique self, but perhaps a mixture of her sisters in terms of looks and personality.

I spend hours wondering what my baby girl will look like. Im so hoping for a green eyed baby girl because it runs in both our families but we're both brown eyed. I have super curly hair so I wish she gets that from me and my eye shape ( dad has small eyes lol) . We both have long eyelashes so I know she will get that. I'm super pale white

lol and dads light as well but just normal but his sister is dark and my dad is mexican afro cuban so he is super dark so I wouldn't be suprise if I get an olived skin munchkin. I would be so suprised if she's the only one that does not get her daddys dimples all three of her siblings got them and their mom's family has none!! Both my mom and brother have dimples but oddly SO is the only one other than his niece with dimples. Also want her to have my butt chin but idk if she would look strange with craters all over her face lol .also I'm dreading her having a widows peak not that I hate them I just don't have it and knowone in my family has it either. My perfect baby based on our genes would have my curly hair but his hair thickness,daddys lips and dimples, my face shape, nose, eyes, ears and body shape. Personality wise I want her to be more like me but I've been told I'm a bitch so I'm not too sure lol and I want her to have her dads heart.

DH and I both have brown hair and eyes as well as a more olive skin tone. We are pretty sure thats what she'll look like ;-) I would love it if she ended up with either blue or green eyes though and we have each on either side. DH and I both seem to have very dominant paternal genes so I'm interested to see what happens there. As far as personality goes we both hope she won't be ADD like DH and SS's since that is such a struggle here. I'm sure she'll have some of the sass my moms family has always proudly had too.

My husband, as well as many members of his family, have these great, big, broad foreheads. I'm really really really hoping babygirl doesn't have that trait, for her sake AND mine. Epidural, here we come!

I also hope she avoids my MIL and SIL's flare for drama. I have no patience for that stuff, but they're prone to tantrums and hissy fits. That will have to be nipped in the bud, ASAP. DH is super calm in almost any storm, so hopefully she'll inherit that, too.

Having a daughter that's as stubborn as me I hope this little girl is more laid back. And I hope like her sister she's easy going, out going, great sense of humour and enjoys reading, already noticed on ultrasound the tiny peek she let me see nova has her sisters nose but she's already stubborn, she doesn't cooperate for ultrasounds right now.
Her dad is short, skinny, and brown eyes Brown hair...I'm heavier set, Brown hair blue eyes. So I hope she has brown hair and blue eyes although red hair runs in the family it'd be interesting.

DHs mom's family is super dominate feature wise. He and his sister look exactly like her and all their cousins, so I'm pretty sure baby will look like him. They have cute babys, so that's all good with me. I think it would be fun for baby to get my eyes (blue) but that is doubtful.
