Re: CPW: baby timing?

  • I said spring baby, but that's because I live in Louisiana and the summers here are brutal!

  • I said Spring but really anywhere between May and September I am down with!

  • It does not matter to me. We have AC and last time the heat did not bother me (I was not uncomfortable)....so anytime is good.
  • I'm a teacher so a spring/summer baby would be ideal! We aren't having any more though.

  • I said winter, even though it is the hardest time for my H. I hate dealing with two hour delays and closings, so it would be nice to time maternity leave up with that next time.

  • A spring or summer baby but most likely we will have a fall/winter baby next.
  • I won't be trying to plan around a time of year but health insurance.  I don't want to have to pay my deductible twice.
  • Winter baby over here because it works out well with the next step in both our careers. Now for biology to comply ;)

  • No more babies here. But spring would be ideal--warm enough to get out and I would actually get leave from teaching, unlike if it was a summer baby.

Winter was tough--cozy, but felt trapped inside because it was a rough winter with lots of snow.

  • I really have no preference.
  • Spring or summer would be nice but we're going to start trying next month so hopefully we'll end up with a fall baby.
  • No more babies here, but I would do another summer baby again if I had a choice. Since I work outside, it was nice having the summer off, not sweating through my shirts every day. DD was a Thanksgiving baby, and being pregnant the summer before and working outside was miserable.

  • We're planning on trying a f.e.t. cycle in July for an April baby, and then if it doesn't work I think the next allowed would be Sept. for a June baby.
  • I picked Spring, but would be happy with whenever LO#2 decides to arrive.
  • I love my spring and summer babies. I think I would prefer another spring baby. If I were to have one. Which I'm not.

  • I also thought about spring :) I think that gives the most time for the winter to come...

@biggunsbo we were going out a week after LO was born, however, I can understand that with many children it may get difficult to go around with a newborn... but it was quite easy with him

  • SS because there will be no moar babies in this house :(  But I loved having two summer babies, as I got to have my maternity leave over the summer and early fall, which was nice to be able to get out and do things, especially in september when it wasn't too hot.

  • Spring. April to be exact.
  • Well, I'm due mid June. While this pregnancy wasn't planned, a spring or early summer baby is ideal for me. It's nice to know we won't have to drive to the hospital in the middle of a huge snowstorm. And it doesn't get too hot where I live in the summer so the weather is a lot better to take a newborn out than the frigid weather we have in the winter.

This. I think we will try for Spring 2016 but these things are outside of my hands. Because of my brother always feeling like he got a raw deal with a summer birthday I never thought a summer birthday was ideal but then I got my beautiful summer rainbow and couldn't be happier.

I like Spring for the weather and because the grandmas who are teachers will have a little free time and because if it's another girl she will probably be able to use some of the hand me downs.

Why'd he feel that way? I think if anything winter b-days get a raw deal. D.h.'s is Jan. 29th, and it's always either snowing like crazy, or rainy, so he didn't have good b-days as skid, and only does now cuz hr has good friends that'll drive through those conditions. I think summer b-days are awesome cuz outside things are way more of an option.

Personally I always thought winter birthdays, especially around Christmas, we're toughest. My brother didn't like that he didn't get to bring cupcakes to school and we were often away on vacation during his birthday or his friends were out of town so he often didn't get a big party with friends

I'd love to have another "summer vacation" birthday, so we can do family trips to celebrate both kids. My bday is NYE and it's always lost in the shuffle. Not really a big deal as an adult, but it kind of stunk as a kid.
  • I'm due in spring, but if I would have had a choice I would have chose winter. I felt like we were stuck in the house all last summer while DS was so little. We're stuck inside most of the winter anyway, so I think it's a good time for a new little squishy.

This, but we're having more. Maternity leave screwed us financially so I would like to plan accordingly for the next one.

I said spring, because I liked early June as a birth time, and might aim for May next time? But I'd like for the seasons to align somewhat so I can reuse all the baby gear/clothes/etc.

And now I'm wondering if the next one will be early, too? Like, should I aim for a June due date for a May baby? #crazymaking

Spring baby. I have one winter baby, 2 summer babies, and both DH and I have fall b-days. I need to spread out my party planning capacity.

(Why am I voting in this poll? I'm supposed to be done.)
