Diapers so far, but I'm going to use it on my whites and my towels too. I didn't even realize how dingy the insides of my pockets were until they came out of the laundry.

After I get the 800 packets I'm going to dump them all in my bathtub.
No but seriously, after we moved here but before A potty trained we were having recurring ammonia/stink issues and I still have weird stink issues in my cleaning towels that only bleach helps (and only for one wash). So I figured I've tried everything else, maybe some RLR would help. Ugh, now I'm wondering if I should consider adding Calgon to my wash routine.

Wash some of those favorate clothes that have gotten forgotten because they just don't look good any longer. I was so happy when I did this, it was like getting a whole new wardrobe.
So do you just add it to the main wash or do you soak clean stuff in it then wash? I was never really clear on the process
On the package it says to wash as usual using the RLR. My diapers are all clean though, so I used it on the clean ones. I let them agitate a bit then soak for a half hour before finishing the cycle. I will probably always use it on clean things just because I'm weirdly OCD about my laundry.

Sorry Stringy ITK forgot to include "slightly CDR and about laundry" in her post title
You must have stumbled into the wrong bar
I had the same reaction tho.
Are you going to start stripping pillows and pack n plays now too?
Lol. I'll stick to towels and whites. Besides, Cascade cleans everything else in my house so much better than RLR ever could. I even use it as a shower gel.

No one here is saying use 12 packages in your bathtub and soak for 3 days them bleach with a full bottle. Rlr is great stuff, as long as you use as directed. Or maybe ITK is a catfish from cd love and sciance!
I'm going to do this with my Freetimes, because my water is just too hard for MF. I only have three though, so what else should I put in the load? My other diapers seem fine, but maybe through them in there for the hell of it? Or towels? Most of own clothes are new enough (PP body changes) that it wouldn't be worth the bother.
If you only have a few things, just put a little of the package in a bucket with water and soak for about 30 min, just agitate a few times, then wash. But it won't hurt to just do it for your other diapers in your normal wash. Or add towels and/or whites.

Try the powder... it's an amazing exfoliator!

Okay, totally stupid question, but I've used RLR three times now, and seriously saw no noticeable difference. However, when tested, we have soft water. Sooooo, this means I don't have mineral buildup??
Could someone tell me exactly what is RLR? B/c my white sheets and towels look so dingy and I would love to make them look better if that works!

Thanks Jepes, this is what I wanted to ask. My pockets aren't dingy from hard water, just from use in general and some mildew, which I cannot seem to prevent. So no RLR?
Yeah I don't know how you would get mineral buildup if your water is soft. Maybe it's just gunk buildup from washing and not getting good enough rinses? You could try washing with a bit of vinegar to see if that helps.
I don't know how it would work or help in soft water, ours here is supremely hard. As in, my shower liner even has pink mineral stains on the bottom of it (totally gonna wash that sucker in some RLR). My old BGEs had gotten really crunchy feeling, and they are so soft they feel like new.
@Mapleme the package has instructions about washing just a few items in a bucket or something and you don't use a full package.

Maybe I didn't add enough last time... I think I did half a packet in the regular wash. If I use it with clean diapers, I still need to use a little detergent, right?
I thought so. I soaked mine in the washer, rather than a tub/bucket, and did a bunch of rinses afterward (but I also did a bleach wash - separately- too, so I was rinsing that too).
Do you think I could use RLR to clean hard water deposits on my glass shower doors? I am allergic to Lime Away and haven't found anything else to get them really clean.

Have you tried vinegar?
Vinegar will work if they're not too bad. DH used CLR around our faucets when we moved and it removed the hard water deposits completely.

Yes, but it doesn't get all the way through and takes so much elbow grease that I'm worried I'll crack the glass since they're only framed at the top and bottom.
Rlr and calgon are two different things. You wouldn't want torlr every wash. It's still a strip. But I think it really takes care of a side range of problem. I did some clothes and it got old stains out, and made stuff look like new.
