This is a weekly thread for runners who were due June 2014, that is posted on Mondays . All who run--or who want to start running--are welcome, regardless of mileage, pace, ability, size, shape, or terrestrial status. We had this thread during pregnancy, now it's time to lose that baby weight.
How were your runs and workouts this week?
How do you feel you are doing with accomplishing any fitness goals you have set?
GTKY: What is your plan for staying on track during the holiday season?
Re: ~*Born to Run Junebugs 10/27*~
I ran for the second time since DS was born over the weekend. My legs felt great, but my endurance was horrible! Just getting out there was a huge win for me, even though it was nothing like I was used to doing pre baby.
@babygabe614 and @sjdihle- I would be interested to know how it goes with the BOB. I have been putting DS in the regular seat (with a headrest) for a while now for walks, but I am still nervous to run with it. It would make it so much easier for me to be able to go out on runs if I could take him with me!
I managed to get in three runs this week. I was shooting for me but the four month sleep regression finally hit our house so yeah.... I did my first 5k this week since baby and wasn't unhappy with the time. I have one on deck for tonight. Should have done it Sunday but opted for a nice cleansing hot yoga class instead (FYI: yogi push ups are effing hard the first time you hit yoga pp.)
I am going to come up short about 4 miles from my goal for the month but I am still calling this a win. This is the most mileage I have put in for a month stretch since I was six months prego.
I usually just stayed on schedule during the holidays and that was enough. Baby boy complicates that plan. I have cut off the junk food at my office by not eating out at work and informing my co-workers to not even bring the junk in my office. That has been helping. We will see how that goes as cookie season ensues.
I am interested in what your peds say about the jogging stroller. Little man has great head and neck control but I am super nervous about running. I am slow so I am wondering if that makes a difference? Can't wait to hear what your peds are saying.
I have - he does ok for a few minutes but I think he just hates being confined in the seat that way. I haven't put him in that way for a while thought - I should try again!
