I love them! But they're soooooo thin. How is one layer of fabric going to absorb anything?! I really think it's one cotton layer on top of waterproof nylon

Re: P.I.M.P.

  • They are magic.

But seriously, don't let their thinness fool you.  They are very absorbent.  I used them towards the end of my post partum bleeding.  And have used them for all of my pp periods and have leaked only once.  (That was mainly a positioning thing not an absorbancy problem).  I use them exclusively.  Because they are comfy, they are cute, they work, and I am a chicken to try a cup.

  • Okay good! I love the prints so much. Apparently I'm a crazy cat lady because I chose two separate ones with cats. LLOL. But of course I ordered them last week and they came today-my period was done yesterday. So I have to wait to try them. But I'm excited!

At the risk of sounding like a zealot, cups are awesome.  If you can handle using a tampon, you can definitely use a menstrual cup.  They're WAY more comfortable than tampons.
  • I agree that they work by magic! My fist two days are crazy heavy, and have only had a few leaks. Those were because they were out of position. I will add that I feel cleaner with them and sware my periods are lighter. Hope you love them!

  • Stash size really depends.  How heavy your flow is.  How often you change.  If you want to wash during your cycle or wash just once at the end.  Etc...  Personally I have 6 super heavy large pads for the beginning.  And 14 regular sized ones for after that.  If it weren't for those last couple days where the flow is super light (almost gone) I would have enough for my entire cycle and only have to wash at the end.  Mine are all PIMPs.  I have spent around $300 for that whole stash.

Did you get the Scaredy Cat from the Halloween collection?  And I am guessing Catastrophe for the other one?
  • I think I'm the odd woman out in the mama cloth world because I can't get the hang of the pul backing.  I've only tried their deluxe liner, but it would not stay put and kept wanting to move to one side or the other :/  a fleece backing of hidden pul seems to work better for me.

  • When I ordered two overnight pads from them I was so shocked! How was something that thin going to work overnight?! But they do! I agree, it's magic.

I have the catastrophe print. It's my favorite.

  • CozyFolk don't have absorbent wings.  They've got a fleece back & wings.
They're on etsy, but their actual website has a much better selection of sizes and colors/prints.
All my overnights are by them, I like them a lot.
  • I used my pimp pp and it really is like magic, love them! I have a cup but since I had my first my cervix is so low I can't use it. I haven't tried it yet since I had my second.

  • I hope they work out for you Meesh!

You all are making me want to try these out. I'm not a fan of the cost of disposable stuff.

Stupid question (sorry for the hijack) what do you guys wash yours with? On their own? With diapers? With something else?

I rinse mine in the sink. Then wash with diapers.

I do a rinse/drain/spin with them on their own.  Then I add towels, sheets, and some other misc. laundry to make the load full and wash all together.  With Tide powder.  They suggest oxo brite for stains, but I have never had any stains.
  • Meesh, your post inspired me to stock up on some PP pads from PLS. I only have lighter pads and thong liners right now. They take a ridiculously long time to come in, but figure I'll have them by March  ;)
