How many people do you shop for, and how's it going so far...?

I buy for DS, DD, niece, and the parents.

I am done with niece, and almost done with my kids (just need books and whatever they request from Santa). I need to buy a book for my dad and candles for my mom. I usually just give DH's parents holiday pictures and crafts that the kids make.

I buy for my 6 nieces and nephews plus 2 of them have December birthdays. My parents, DH's parents, 2 special aunts, DH, DS xmas, DS birthday, My siblings and I draw names so one sibling, usually ppl at work (teaching assistant) but this year I don't have anyone working in my room . I will probably get the secretary a little something. Then I buy a bunch of wine to have on hand and cute little burlap bags to give anyone I might have forgotten or if they give me a gift lol.

So far I got a b-day present for niece and a train table for DS (his xmas gift).

I really want to get going though because when I was pregnant with DS I got everyone done by the end of the November and December was so much more relaxing and enjoyable. I actually did fun things that I wanted to do (baking, festival of lights, etc.)

I buy for our family and my nephew. I also buy something small for my grandma and my parents. They want to keep the gifts mostly for the kids, but I feel bad not getting them something so I usually make them something photo related of the kids. We also buy gift cards for teachers and DD's therapist. Then we have preschool Christmas which will probably involve secret santa and small class gifts. Add DD's, DS's, and my dad's birthday also in December and I think that is it.

I have two gifts bought - one for DH and one that my grandma asked me to buy for the kids. I still have a lot to do!

We buy for the nieces/nephew, our kids, my parents, his parents, and each other. I have the nieces and nephew , my Dad, father on law, and part of DH and DS done.

We buy for our kids, our niece, our parents, our grandparents, siblings, and DH's co-workers. Believe it or not that's much shorter than a few years ago when we also did friends and aunts/uncles.

I have a list with budgeted amounts and gift ideas. I need to come up with gift ideas for the last 5 or so people then I organize lists by store. Once I have my lists I choose a store per week and that way try to break up the shopping madness.

This year to an extent we're adding adults back in... But it's only because we've found things that they were specifically wanting but not getting themselves because they're a "splurge" yet within a budget we're comfortable spending..

This year what I've been doing is just getting what I want to get people when I find it instead of waiting around until after Thanksgiving. I want to be completely done so I can put up the tree and have a bunch of pretty wrapped packages under it as soon as humanly possible once DH is done eating the turkey.

I buy for my boys, my husband, teen daughters of my husband's best friend, my parents, 2 nephews, 2 nieces, 2 preschool teachers, 4 teacher's aids. My husband gets the gifts for his sister and her husband, his best friend, and his coworkers.

I think I'm going to do gift baskets this year. A movie themed one, a breakfast one, I have a few ideas. That is for my siblings. Calendars and family pics for my parents and inlaws. I have lots of ideas for DD, and I think I'm doing a bacon of the month club for my DH.

Our family is so small, we buy for everyone!

It's just us four plus my mom and dad and my sister. I don't have IL and DH is an only child. My sister isn't married and doesn't have any children.

To be honest, I cannot even think about Christmas before we celebrate Halloween so I have no clue what I'm buying just yet.

I buy for two nieces, one nephew, and I buy for any adults who will be buying for my kids--grandparents, childless uncle--and those gifts are "from" my boys. I would just feel weird about family gifting to my kids and not getting anything in return.

I am actually almost 100% done with Xmas shopping for extended family. I have to ship everything so I try to get it all down early. My goal is to drop everything off at UPS the day after Thanksgiving and then I can just enjoy the month of December instead of stressing the whole time.

My ILs starting doing a gift exchange a couple years ago and my family is doing one between adults this year, so we will have to buy for 2 adults and 2 kids for the IL's gift exchange, and 2 adults for my family's gift exchange. My family isn't doing a gift exchange between the kids, but other than my kids, it's just my niece and nephew, so I'll have 2 kids to buy for as well. And then my kids and husband, of course.

The thing that sucks about gift exchanges is that we don't choose names until closer to Thanksgiving, so I can't really get started early. I have started buying for my kids and niece and nephew, though.

@keeptruckin What do you put in a Breakfast themed gift basket? That sounds interesting.

We usually do our immediate families...so in addition to our kids, both of our parents, DHs two younger brothers, my siblings & spouses, and their kids.

To save money, I try to do couples gifts (usually date night things like movie/dinner gift cards), the bils usually get something athletic (ones a pro football player and the other is aspiring), and then the kiddos will get some kind of activity.

This year we have a bigger holiday budget and we are hoping to be able to get some things for our pastor and his wife because they have been the absolute most giving to us all year in moving us to this town and helping us get settled in the last two months.

Normally 30 people plus Dh and Ds. I just cant swing it this year due to a series of unfortunate events. So that will get cut down.

I do all my shopping from black friday to like the 23.

@caranichole‌ for a breakfast basket I do some coffee pods, breakfast teas, quick bread mixes and/or gourmet pancake mixes, real maple syrup and usually some nice jams. Pumpkin or apple butter too!m
