Hi all!
I am currently 16 weeks pregnant and have had Bacterial vaginosis and a yeast infection throughout my entire pregnancy thus far and have never had it before. I have been through multiple treatments including 3 rounds of oral and 2 intravaginal cream antibiotics so far, but nothing is seeming to make it go away. I can deal with the minimal discomfort that it's causing me, but I just worry about the risk of preterm labor or miscarriage due to the BV during pregnancy. I was wondering if anyone had experience going to full term with a constant bacterial vaginosis during pregnancy and if their babies were effected at all by the infection? Also, do you have any tips to get rid of relentless infections that are safe to use in pregnancy?
Thank you so much in advance for your responses!
Re: Bacterial vaginosis during pregnancy
Just more prevalent in some women during pregnancy. I was 5 days past my due date with DD and had to be induced, so no preterm labor for me. Hope it gets better soon!
I was told to not have sex ( I have been on pelvic rest anyways), wear cotton underwear or no underwear at night, use a non scented wash down there like dove unscented. My doctor has never been overly concerned about it but I having read about it online.
I was tested again at 24 weeks and was finally clear of it!
