Popping in to say Hello!

I haven't been on here since the girls were just a few weeks old.  I am not sure if anyone will remember me.

Been really busy with the girls.  Loosing my mind most days.  I have very little time to ever get to the bump.

I have been searching the internet this evening for solutions to curb the hair pulling phenomenon around here.  I had long hair for 30 years until about 6 weeks ago when I cut it reduce the temptation.  This evening one of my girls just went haywire and practically scalped me!   So desperate when my DH came home I begged for a break and started looking.

Other than the hair pulling the girls are great.  One is now 19lbs and very active.  She is very strong and loves to laugh.  The other is a wee little tiny 13lbs and a little more quiet.

Are any of the other twin mommies still on here?  How are you all doing?  @bandteacher how are your boys.

  • Welcome back! Sounds like you've got your hands full with the girls!

The new haircut is cute. J went through a hair pulling phase too. My hair is about the same length as yours now.

This begs the question.... how did you get her to stop!

  • I remember you too!! Welcome back and your girls are beautiful! Mine is a hair puller too. I mostly wear it up and when she does get it, I barely acknowledge it and just distract her or hold her differently so she can't get it/forgets about it.

  • I try to keep it out of her reach, i.e. ponytail, but when she does get a hold of it I say ouch a little loud (not yelling it) and bounced her slightly.  it kind of startled her and she let go.  I kept doing it and now she just runs her hands over it, does not grab it.

  • @babyvdm I wish I had an answer for you about why the hair pulling stopped but I don't. I think he just lost interest. Keeping it short might be helping since it's not in dangling in his face when I lean over him.

  • Thanks everyone for the advice.

Here's hoping this is a short lived phase and she doesn't start wrenching on Bea's hair next.

  • Hey!
My hair is to my waist. I keep it braided all day since I BF and even when LO isn't actively trying to grab it, he ultimately ends up getting his fingers caught in it if its down.
If his finger find a few loose strands I grab hold of his hand and ask him to let go. He doesn't usually fight me on it.
When I'm carrying him he loves to hold my braid. It's very cute.
  • Welcome back! No advice on the hair pulling, mine stays in a bun most of the time now. Maybe one day I'll have time to get it cut :)
I'm still around some (sn has changed though). Your girls are adorable!
  • hello from another twin momma!
No advice on the hair pulling - mine is long but I usually keep it in a braid b/c I don't have time to wash and style it.

Your girls are beautiful! I'm amazed at how different they are in weight! Are they in different size clothes?

I buy the same size or rather have been. I like to dress them alike. But since Bea is so much smaller than Patty I am going to have to stop.

Bea is still able to wear 3-6 (except if the are footed). Patty is in 6-12.
