Ok, guise I really need some advice! So you know the facts I will give you some what of a back story:
Ever since my sister had her first son I had repeatedly tried calling social services in hopes that they would take him away but had absolutely no luck and it really made me lose hope in the system. I had gotton to that point because after she got home from the hospital I went over to her apartment and visited only to find out that she hadn't eaten all day and was just taking oxycodones(?) for pain while breasfeeding and then I go to leave and they light up a blunt Right in front of the baby. Oh I was so angry and heartbroken. Over a period of years we didn't talk but eventually got back to communicating. Ever since then I had visited and although her living situation wasn't ideal (meaning a dirty, cluttered apartment) she seemed like she was a good mom and she was taking good care of her son. So fast forward to a couple years later and she has her second son (he's a couple months younger than Warren) her boyfriend stays home with the kids while she works and plays video games all day, smokes in the house and may or may not be selling drugs from their home. My mom has been there over three times in the course of the week and said all three times that poor baby has been in that pack n play and the apartment is a scum hole. So my husband went over yesterday to try to fix their car and said that David didn't open the door for 15 minutes and the whole time her heard that baby histerically crying. When he let him in the baby was in the pack in play with purple eyes and still hysterically crying. He said both kids were dirty and the apartment was just disgusting. My husband was literally crying on the phone talking to me. Please guise help me! I don't know what to do, they have been called on so many times and nothings happens. I'm in desperate need of advice and I'm willing to do whatever is right for those poor babies
Re: Social and CPS workers come in (duplicate fb post)
I'm sorry you're in such a shitty spot but thank you for trying to help those poor babies!!!! I truly hope the system doesn't fail them and they get the help they need. Good luck and keep us posted!
Actually, a very dirty place CAN get CPS out there. We had CPS called by an unknown person on us during the addition. The allegations were that the place was filthy and unsafe living conditions. Our house was not filthy, but it was a bit cluttered because, well, we had to move our complete bedroom out into our small living room and we slept in the living room for a month while they expanded our old room and added 2 rooms on. It wasn't an issue because like I said, it was cluttered, but within reason, everyone was clearly fed, was taken care of, and it was clean (but cluttered). Even the construction area was clean and it was sealed the best they could so that no child could get into that area with plastic that was overly stapled to the wall from the construction side. You could access it through a door. But we took her back there and pointed out that the workers (knowing we had small kids) kept it swept every day, no tools were ever left, and she could not even find a stray nail... And talk about embarrassment when she then called the contractor to confirm that they were continuing work and not leaving it. I wanted to just die. Either way, we were fine, but the point was, there was no allegations of neglect, just a mess.
