    1) I work almost FT (4 days/week, but that often ends up being 40 hours...), but I actually work from home (though DD has childcare); I sometimes commute from NY-DC for my job.

    2) Sometimes I wish I could stay home - I think ideally, I'd like to work 3 days/week, and stay home more. If we have a second child, I think I am going to reevaluate my work plans, and am considering becoming a consultant so that I can take on assignments periodically, but not work as regularly.

    3) I work for a government contractor, as a technical writer. I generally write proposals in response to requests from USAID (though sometimes for other agencies, like the Department of Defense, or for other donors, like the World Bank of the British Department for International Development). Right now, I'm writing about climate-sensitive economic growth in the Philippines. Last week, I was writing about agricultural production in Mozambique. This summer I wrote about topics as varied as pandemic preparedness, innovation competitions, and wildlife trafficking. It is sometimes frustrating, but it's rarely boring!
You need to let us know next time you're in DC!
I'm actually coming on Thursday, but I'm taking a 7am Amtrak down, and a 7pm one back...if anyone wants to have coffee at Union Station at 6pm, I'll be there! (But seriously, the next time I come down for more than 9 hours, I will definitely let you guys know!)
This Thursday we're kicking off a best friend's wedding weekend but it would be great to meet next time you're around... or meet again perhaps ;)

  • I work full time.
I started working 6 weeks ago and if I could sahm I would in a heartbeat.

I am assistant to the coordinators. Our focus is community care, seniors livinga home.
  • I work outside the home.

I work full time hours, but would prefer 3 days a week.

I am a nursing intake coordinator for community care.....a lot of it is seniors care and how to keep people living safely at home, the other main portion is support for palliative clients......I love what I do, but less hours would be nice!!

@fabk‌ sounds like we work in the same field!
