Pregnant after a Loss

Passing out?

I'm 13 1/2 weeks pregnant with my 5th pregnancy (no live births). This morning I was making breakfast and started getting some intense cramping in my lower back, enough to double me over- very painful. I thought maybe I needed to go to the bathroom, but when I got in there I started to pass out/see black spots, so I layed on the bathroom floor. Then I started retching really awful, but there was nothing in my stomach. Once I finally got that under control I layed on the bathroom floor for 10 minutes and started feeling better. I drank some orange juice and got up ok. Has anything like this happened to any of you? Maybe low blood sugar? But it seems like the lower back pain/cramping triggered it? My lower back still hurts-like a dull ache. I called the nurse but she hasn't called me back yet.

On a hopefully unrelated note, I started spotting on Friday but had and ultrasound and baby was ok. I contributed it to recently stopping progesterone. The spotting stopped Friday. Terrifying day though because spotting was the indication that our first baby at 12 weeks had stopped growing.

Thanks for any input! I hope you all are having fabulous days.

Re: Passing out?

  • Yikes! I have no wisdom, but I'm hoping all is well with you. That must have been terrifying! I hope the nurse calls back soon. ((Hugs))

  • Thank you for your kind thoughts. Nurse called back and she's going to have me come in just in case :)
  • Hope the nurse gets back to you soon!

This has happened to me a few times and it's almost always related to my blood sugar. It's easier to happen when you are pregnant due to the increase of blood.

  • There was someone else in the group that posted a similar story...I wish I could remember who...anyway most of the books state dizziness etc is common. I had it really bad a few days ago (dizziness) while I was doing laundry. Drinking water and going to bed eradicated it for me.
