Vaccine side-effect/bump?

Has anyone experienced this? Baby girl got a flu shot, polio shot and chicken pox shot a week ago, and now a week later i see a red bump on one of her legs where she got the 2 shots and it feels bumpy too. Anyone had that? I'm calling the doc tomorrow to ask but wasn't sure if it was a normal reaction. She's fine otherwise (no fever, same happy self).

Re: Vaccine side-effect/bump?

  • We haven't went for the 1 year vaccine yet but she got a lump on one of her legs where she got the vaccine last time. It lasted a few weeks actually but was told that it was normal and it slowly went away.

  • Yes @AlejandraN2‌ ! Asked her doctor about it when she went back for her second dose of the flu shot and she said it's completely normal and can last up to a month or so! D had one for 3 weeks. Didn't seem to bother her !

  • Yes. My daughter had this after the chickenpox shot. It looked pretty sore and was bumpy but it didn't seem to bother her. A reaction 7-14 days after this vaccine is normal.
  • Yes my daughters bump lasted two or three weeks

  • DS had a bump after 6 month and 9 month shots. It lasted for weeks. He has not had his one year shots yet.
  • Thanks ladies - good to know it's not uncommon. Was it red too? It's not angry red, more like a pale red.
I called the doc too and she said as long as she's not hurting when i press it and is normal otherwise that it's a normal reaction.
  • Yes, DSs was red. Good to hear Dr. Said your LO is fine :)
  • LO had a slightly red bump on one of her legs after her 1 year vaccines. It developed about a week or so after her shots and I just kept an eye on it to make sure it didn't get any worse and it ended up slowly going away over a few weeks time. Just trust your instincts and if you think it may be getting worse or LO is showing other symptoms, bring her in for a check just to be sure.
