Lurking and unsure if I belong.

Hello, all you lovelies!

I've been lurking on the F'15 board for a few weeks. My EDD is actually March 4th, but I've had a surplus of people lately (IRL) telling me to expect a " late Valentine" and not a "Lucky Charm".

So just in case I DO end up being a member of the Feb Mommy club, I thought I'd introduce myself. I'm a 23yo, single, FTM who's is trying to figure out this whole parenting thing. Learning to trust my instincts is the hardest thing since I have so much anxiety about screwing my child up. I was/am Team Green, but my LO must have been conspiring with the u/s tech at my a/s. I'm hoping for a med-free/low-intervention birth and am open to as much advice/as many tips I can filter through.

Thanks for allowing me to lurk and love tit you all. I'm usually most active at M'15, but we'll see when LO wants to make her debut!

Welcome! My EDD is Feb 25 so I'm on the fence of Feb/March too.

foxslaw I intend to, but we'll have to see how well they take. I have some immune system issues, and my body didn't always "accept" vaccines. Example: received the chicken pox shot at 5, 7, AND caught a mild case of it when my siblings had it at 8. To this day I still show no antibodies, and probably never will. haha

freegiraffe Too bad it's not a leap year! I know it's a pain for those born on Feb. 29th, but it's so cool to think about.

kbelly777 Yep, I think that's the only "vaccinated" disease I can recatch since I show antibodies for most like mumps or small pox. My GP did mention I should be extra careful about HPV because that vaccine series was new when I got it and it might not take, but no issues there yet. When's you're EDD? Are you a FTM as well? I just don't know if how long my mom carried should be an indicator of when I'll deliver or not.

I'm borderline, too. I have a good chance of going in January (due Feb 4th). Everyone always told me that 1st pregnancies go late (mine was right on time) and my mom's labor/birth didn't affect me but I'm not sure if held true for others.

Welcome to the group! I was 8 days early with my daughter and ended up giving birth in May, but stuck with my June group. There is no hard and fast rule for the BMBs.

And congrats on your pregnancy!

@ST3WD‌ I'm a STM actually and my due date is jan 29th.

I was late with my first though, so I maybe end up a February momma after all. My mom wasn't late with any of her pregnancies (I'm one of four) so I don't think your mom's experience will necessarily be yours too.

lots of well placed snark but with some bumpy roads, as a whole I'd say we are probably one of the most supportive groups (so long as you are pro vacc, keep your kids junk out of our faces, and know when to trust your Dr's advice over random people on the internet!). Hope to see you around.

Hiyo! I'm due w #4 ( a bouncing baby boy ) and I'm a borderline mommy here, too. My DD is technically feb 2nd, but I'm pretty sure I'll be having a January baby (my girls were both late, but my son was 12 days early).

I have the same problem with the measles vaccine!! I've never gotten the measles, thank God, but I don't have antibodies and never will!

hwood10 So weird! I wonder why that happens. I'm always like, "Body, why have you forsaken meeee?" :P I will admit I'm a little paranoid about catching things like chicken pox.
