question during first prenatal visit.

Hi. I am going to the doctor in a little over a week for my first visit. I will be about 7 weeks. I was hoping for suggestions as to what to ask the doctor. For some reason I cannot come up with any questions.

    Questions aren't a requirement! If you have any questions, definitely ask them! But if you don't, don't feel bad. I think Ive asked a question like 2x ever in 2 full pregnancies worth of appts.

    Questions you may have could include: is this symptom (or lack thereof) normal? Is xyz activity/food safe for me? What symptoms/milestones/etc will be coming next? What are things I need to call you about (illness, cramps, bleeding etc)? Questions you may have about deciding to accept or decline optional testing, risks, accuracy rates, etc. Schedule of appts through your pg. If you are not aware already, what is the practice's policies on inuctions, how late will they let you go etc (this can wait if you are comfortable with your practice regardless of the answers). Concerns about your own medical or family history as it relates to your pregnancy and baby. 

    Much of that will probably be covered. But those are some things you may want to ask about. Again, if you don't have any questions, it really is ok!

    I plan on asking my doctor which hospitals he has rights to deliver at. I want to make sure he's able to deliver at a certain hospital so that I can have a private room. (I'm thinking way ahead lol)

    My nurse gave me a packet of everything I needed to know...medicines that were okay for a plethora of issues, working out, foods to avoid, etc. I ended up just reading the packet and only asked one or two questions. :)
