Trouble TTC

Why 3T rocks (how has it saved your a$$??)

TB/3T/IF pretty much saved my ass tonight. Went to dinner with friends, I am currently stimming for IVF. This is the first time I've had to take any injectables away from home and thought I had everything planned out - had my follistim and low-dose HCG on an ice pack in my purse. IDIOT me left the house with ZERO needles for my follistim pen. I get to the restaurant bathroom and realize this (oh shit moment right there...we're an hour from home.) Then I remembered the unit conversion for follistim units to units on an insulin syringe, and I had an extra syringe along! Did the math, shot myself up, and went on with an amazing night stress free! In more ways than one, this community has been a resource and haven for me, and I wouldn't even consider myself a legit "regular." So, pretty much, you rock. Thanks!!!

  • @rainbowbridge14‌ the discussion that helped me has "follistim overfill" in the title and was started by one of our lovely mods right here on 3T in January 2014. I can post the link to the discussion but something makes me feel like that's not allowed, though I can't remember why. I know our mods are busy this weekend so I won't tag them, but if in fact it is OK to post the link, anyone can feel free to LMK. Otherwise it's easily searched!

  • This is the only board I felt comfortable coming to when we were first starting IF treatment. Because I was completely anovulatory, we started treatment well before the year mark. Because of that there was a long time when I felt kind of like "fake infertile." I felt like I didn't have too much of a right to complain, but I didn't fit in on the Waiting to O threads on TTGP either. Even with my unique situation, everyone on here was completely welcoming and helpful, and it has meant the world to me.

Being a part of this group has also shown me that my level of frustration and sadness is normal. It's reinforced to me that it's ok to be sad at hearing a pregnancy announcement, avoid baby showers, etc. I didn't have any idea how to navigate this world before. <3
    **siggy warning**  **everyone welcome**

Having a supportive, fun, empathetic, knowledge-sharing group of ladies here on 3T has done a great deal to keep me sane during what is a very difficult time.

The info that we have shared here has also saved me from false hope or discouragement many times.  For example:
I recently went to the doctor for something unrelated (UTI, blech) and they ran a pregnancy test as well to rule that out as a cause of my symptoms (and also b/c I told them that I was TTC and need a safe antibiotic).  The doctor was very nice and mentioned that he and his wife went through a hard struggle with IVF, too.  So I think that he really wanted to give me some encouraging news when he mentioned that the test was faintly positive.  Thanks to you ladies, I knew not to get my hopes up too much, as it was only 4 days after I had triggered!
(That said - I haven't tested since then, but I'm hoping that the faint positive has only gotten stronger!)
