take home outfit

i hate it but i am being super picky and haven't found anything yet!

i am looking for something:
white/pastel/neutral- NO characters
one piece
wrap across or buttons - no elastic waist
WARM- long sleeve & legs covered
nicer than PJs

i can add socks or hats or it can come with footies, etc.

Any ideas? links please!

A friend of ours gave us this gift at our shower and it has our last name on it.

Its a size 2T-4T so she can wear it for many years to come.

I'll bet dollars to donuts my wife wants to bring her home from the hospital in it even though she will be swimming in it!

Honestly though, I thought about buying a take home outfit for all of about 15 seconds. I'm guessing DW and I are the only ones that will see her that day, so I didn't see need to spend a ton of money on an outfit like that she will only wear once.
  • I am thinking about doing a shadow box w/ the outfit, footprints, hospital bracelets, ETC down the road PLUS i read that this is the first BIG picture moment ;-)

however OMG i dont want to spend crazy amounts of $$ on this ! I was thinking $20-30

DW might want a Yankees jersey for take home... lol

  • @mrs&mrsk - depends on how thick it is but I have read that prams and similar fleece outfits are safe for use in the car seat and a good option for keeping them warm in the winter when they can't be in jackets or snowsuits. Having feet and a hood is way easier than socks and hats and you can't go wrong dressing your baby up like an adorable little bear! Maybe get a cute simple cotton onesie for underneath and you could be all set!

  • I think maybe because I'm not american, our maybe because as much as I like cuteness, I'm inherently practical, but despite the tons of cute clothes we had, we put A in very soft gray cotton pants and a little white soft cotton t-shirt with cotton socks and mittens. Reading all the effort that everyone else goes to to put baby in a cute outfit makes me feel like I didn't do enough. Although he was adorable regardless :-)
