Amber necklaces for babies

Has anyone tried these? I've noticed DD is very gassy and she's been spitting up a lot the last few days. I know there are lots of reasons for that and plan to ask her pediatrician but I was wondering if anyone has tried these necklaces with any luck.

Re: Amber necklaces for babies

  • I have no experience with these, but I do know several moms that use them.  They seem to think they work.

  • I feel like there is no rational science behind them.

  • I've only heard of these being used for teething. Interesting.

  • I had them for my first two around the teething stage. My babies never had a hard time with teething but I don't really know how much was due to the amber necklaces. I just got them mostly because I thought they looked cute.

  • I wasn't really sold on the idea anyway just wondering if any of you had tried them. I will probably just keep trying the gripe water and trying to burp this kid for 20 minutes. Might have to check the mylicon drops out.

  • She's BF. Gripe water usually helps if I can get her to stop screaming long enough to safely swallow it.

  • It could also be a lactose intolerance. My kids get gassy and spit up with dairy. You might want to ask your pedi about this. I had a friend who couldn't have dairy while breastfeeding.
  • I believe it's hazelwood necklaces that are supposed to help with belly issues, not just straight up amber necklaces.  That said, gripe water and gas drops.  Also probiotics.  Since you're BFing, maybe try the Gerber Soothe probiotic drops (they're the same as the BioGaia, if you've used/heard of those before).
