Anyone else having/had contractions that aren't "doing anything"? Been monitored, the little machine picks them up, sometimes they are regular. This morning, was about 5-6 an hour...
Prescribed meds to take daily for them, but I can go to work and whatnot (can't really function but ok)
But I'm not dilated, the ffn(?) test is negative, and everything looks ok.
Don't get me wrong, that's good at 30 weeks and I don't WANT them to start doing anything. Just after being on my feet for any lengthy period of time, they start up. And that's what my job consists of, so can't really avoid it.
I just don't understand...
Guess I'm going to have to buck up and deal with it for hopefully atleast 8 weeks?
Any input or insight is always appreciated
Ok. Pity party over.
Just...what do?!
Re: Non-progressing contractions
My high risk midwife calls it an irritable uterus. That it's the body's way of calling foul and making me relax and rest. Unfortunately that's the only way to calm it down.
Can you modify your schedule for shorter shifts or take more breaks? That may help,Good Luck!
If they become bad enough you can talk to your dr about a prescription to help for the contractions.
Lately I've just tried to rest when I can and literally carry a giant thing of water around. I can't work any shifts longer than 4 hours though, or the pressure and pain is literally crippling. I've decided to try to just push through with Tylenol and hope that the meds they prescribed help.
Thank you ladies for all the input! I'm glad/sorry at the same time that others are dealing with this too. We can do it!! Cuz we're awesome
I've been having them allot today. They woke me up from my nap. I'm still having them, but drinking water and hope they go away. My belly feels really sore too, which is new to me too.
This is my 4th pregnancy, so you'd think I would have experienced everything so far.

Consistently for a few hours. When I got home today I drank what felt like gallons of water and rested. I went hiking and have been on my feet all weekend so I'm chalking it up to dehydration and too much time on my feet- they have subsided since. I have an appointment Tuesday and plan to ask some questions about this as well! Hoping all our little ones stay cozy inside us for the next two months!
