Yeah, both my girls are in the same blanket in their pictures. LO will be too.
I actually have two pictures of me taken with the girls when I held them for the first time, that except for my glasses having changed color frames and the girls' faces being different, they are EXACTLY the same. I was even in the same bed, because the girls were born in the same hospital room 20 months apart.
I know a lot of people who bring a different blanket/hat for the sake of aethestics but to me its like a rite of passage to have those first photos of the baby in the trademark gear
Our hospital said they are switching to sleep sacks beginning next month. Kind of feel like my LO will be missing out on a rite of passage not getting a picture in the traditional blanket/hat.
I really liked the hospital blankets and found them good for swaddling. DD got a hat that was some sort of cut off sleeve tied with a pink ribbon (see picture.) I don't remember what the boys had though?

Oooooohhhhhhh this suddenly makes me ache to hold my tiny baby in my arms. I don't have these feelings often bc I'm so damn busy i hardly have time to pee let alone dream of baby #2. But once in a while, lately, things like this just trigger that feeling. Thanks

Our hospital wraps them in blankets that look like that same material and thickness, but slightly diff in pattern. They are white with blue and pink footprints if I remember correctly from the tour.
Re: Why most newborns have the same blankets in their pictures
Thanks
