Parenting after a Loss

recommend your baby carriers....(charmedgrl517)

Sorry I haven't been around for awhile. Work was crazy while pregnant and now I'm trying to get into a routine with two! :) i had Brianna on Sept 18. Hannah is being a great big sis and I couldn't ask for things to go more smoothly.

On that note, Brianna is a cuddler and I feel like it's hard to hold her as much with a toddler. I'm looking into a baby carrier/wrap mainly just for around the house. Something simple, comfortable and easy to put her in etc. I'm sure I will use it out too but I really like our double sit and stand stroller. What do you use and love?!

Thanks ladies. Hope everyone is doing well and I hope to be more active while on leave.

  • I used a Hava ring sling when M was little.  It worked really well.  The padded shoulder made it very comfortable, and it was much easier to adjust than others I've tried.  We also used a Moby wrap, but it wasn't nearly as user friendly.  We had an ergo too, but she hated the infant insert.  We use the ergo now, but it took her a long time to get to where she liked it.

  • I loved the Moby wrap when C was a tiny squish, though I wish I could just take the leap and invest in a woven. (Once baby gets bigger, the Moby stretches too much and isn't as supportive) Once C was better at holding his own head up, we LOVED the Ergo and still do. I'm hearing a lot about Tulas and how they are even more comfortable than the Ergo. And they come in such cute prints. I'll let you know if I take that leap.

I keep hearing the same thing about Tulas too!  The local shop I got my ring sling at, now carries them.  I really need to take M over one day and try them out.

  • I also really love the ergo. I got a great price on Amazon. I initially had the K'Tan, and just found it awkward to get him in and out with ease when alone. Even at almost 11 months, he loves being close and held, and he is heavy, so I love the support. I really wish I purchased the ergo sooner during the early days when he wouldn't even let me make a sandwich! I hauled my son all over the airport and the padded straps are awesome. I will need to get the infant insert if I have a second wee one.

  • You NEED to get the Nuroo pocket wrap!! It's amazing!!! You can buy it on amazon, it's perfect for the first 3-4 months and around the house. Its like a shirt you put on and slip your baby into it-like a kangaroo lol. It sounds wierd but it was truly a lifesaver! I also got the Ergo but found it bulky , especially with the infant insert. I think the Ergo is much better when baby is 4months plus.

  • I used the Moby a bit with DS1 and once it was on it was fine, I just found it to be a pain to get on. I looked into the K'Tan since it's similar but easier to put on but didn't end up getting it, which was fortunate because DS2 doesn't seem to care much to be worn facing in. I have a Beco Gemini that hopefully he'll tolerate more once he can see out of it better.
  • Hi! Congrats!

I have a Moby, but I don't love it. I have an ergo, which I do love! I will have to try putting a blanket in there since I don't have the insert.

  • I must be the odd man out here, but I LOVE my K'Tan for our DS.  It is so easy to put on, and he loves being in it.  He just got big enough to forward face, and it's pretty much his favorite thing ever, and our only solace when he's gassy!  We also have a Moby, but I'm not comfortable with it yet.
