im reached 5 weeks today! Has anyone had minimal cramping with diarrhea?

Re: ***TMI*** symptom

  • I have had the runs like crazy.. no real cramping to speak of but my lower abdomen definitely feels different

  • Just a heads up it could be the prenatal vitamins - a lot include a stool softener
  • WSS^^ most def the prenatals

  • I am nauseous all day and usually have diarrhea in the evenings. It sucks a lot. It's not the prenatal for me. I'm on progesterone gel and that could be contributing. I also have IBS in regular, non-pregnant life and any hormone changes trigger it. I have diarrhea right before I get my period every month too. :-/
  • This started for me yesterday. :( I don't know if it was something I ate or a change in my body or what...but, it's not fun. Make sure you stay hydrated!

  • For me it's just the opposite I have bad constipation! Like 3 - 4 days without going then cramping..bloating.. my mom told me to start eating a few prunes a day. So hopefully that will help. Anyone dealing with constipation and have other remedies? I still have 3 weeks till my dr appt.
  • A lot of generic/store brand prenatals have propylene glycol or polyethylene glycol in them. That causes diarrhea or loose stool. I was having problems w the Target brand kind, so I switched to Rainbow Light, a vegan/food based supplement, and it's made a life of a difference! I take them first thing in the morning on an empty stomach and no issues.

Could also just be you ate something that doesn't like you. :|
  • I have been having issues with constipation as Well. It was so bad at one point that I had to go to the e.r because I thought something was wrong. I started taking colace and drank a glass of prune juice. That eased the pressure a lot.
  • I had diarrhea around 5 weeks for a few days, but it switched to constipation about a week later. Now I need to chug prune juice all the damn time.
  • Cramping is normal. I'm still cramping at 7 weeks. Your body is just making room for the baby.
  • I have the same problem as you OP, I'm going to the bathroom at least twice a day.  And, I take Rainbow Light PNVs so I know it's not from them.
