I went to the hospital for my scheduled repeat c-section at 9am on 10/20. I was in line to check in and two other women came in in labor. A lady who was with one of the other women looked at me and asked "how do you look so happy? " I said "because I'm not in labor." I was anxious about the surgery but very calm knowing I was having a baby at a set time and didn't have to be in labor.
They checked me in and asked me about a billion questions about my medical history and preferences for the baby such as breast or bottle fed, circumcision etc. They started my iv and my pre-screen antibiotics. We hung out for two hours until my c-section time at 11:00 am.
My Dr came in and we were all just casually talking (my dr, me and the nurses). I jokingly told my dr she could feel free to give me a little tummy tuck and get rid of any extra belly fat when she sewed me up. They brought dh in and we started my c-section. I had some extra fluid and had joked with my dr that I might flood the OR. During the cs I heard this squirting and then a huge splash. My water went everywhere.
Zachary Oliver was delivered at 11:28 am weighing 9lbs 5 oz and 21 inches. He had a complete knot in his umbilical cord and they said it is rare and a good thing we didn't try to induce or try for a vaginal birth. He looks just like ds1 except his hair is slightly darker.
I was discharged on 10/22. I was feeling pretty good and was not comfortable on the hard hospital bed and couldn't sleep with the constant checks of my and baby's vitals. It was also my and dh's anniversary so we got to go to dinner to celebrate (with our three kids and my mil). Zachary is starting to get a routine. It is so adorable to see how much ds1 loves ds2. He kisses him and checks on him all the time. He has to know where ds2 is all the time. So sweet!
