my midwife said that is what this is but did not explain it too well, and from what I see online it sounds like plenty of women deal with it. The baby is posterior and she said the head is not engaged so the contractions are not dilating my cervix. Sometimes they are very painful, but mostly I can ignore them. The midwife had told me to call when the contractions were 5 minutes or less regardless of how painful they are, so I ended up being that crazy pregnant lady who went in and got sent home...please tell me someone else has done this so I feel less stupid

I had never felt contractions coming every 2-3 minutes like that even though they were not very painful, but I definitely feel silly. I tried to tell her on the phone that there was no pain but she had me come anyways. I know prodromal labor could last weeks (well I will be induced after next week at 42 weeks, so that will end that) but I was wondering if anyone could share their experience or any tips for getting some sleep when the contractions become painful at night. I delivered L sunny side up as well but I was only stuck in this prodromal type labor for about three days. With this one I am going on a week of constant contractions and stomach flu symptoms with no progression.
Re: Can anyone tell me about prodromal labor?
Honestly, for me, it was worse than real labor.
With ds, it was less consistent. It would happen every evening for about 2 hours and would go away. I didn't progress very much with him, maybe 3.5 cms.
Taking a warm bath and then lying down always made them go away. If I was having a particularly "contracty" night and was confused about whether or not it was the real thing, a bath would always let me know for sure.
Also, the more time I spent on my feet that day, the worse it was, so spend a lot of time with your feet up if you don't want to deal with it!
Hang in there! You're almost done!
