I take 100mg B6 throughout the day divided, 1/2 tab unisom in the AM and 1/2 tab unisom in the afternoon with a whole tab before bed. I use the Zofram for breakthrough nausea. For me Zofran stops the vomiting but not really the nausea. The B6/unisom combination helps the nausea.
I have only had experience with Zofran when we had the stomach bugs going around. It gave me and my daughters horrible headaches. Which when we get bad headaches we get nausous. So....

I will give this a try. I have an appt on Friday and plan on asking for some recommendations. It seems to be getting worse every week. It's getting harder to explain why I'm constantly in the restroom at work. I'm going to start carrying lysol and a newspaper so no one asks. :P

I have headaches too..I definitely don't want to add to it!
@lazzlee79 pregnancy headaches are the worse. Once I was into the 2 Trimester they got better. Don't have them near as much anymore. But I do not dig those zofran headaches one bit!

I had horrible headaches when taking Zofran - which gave me migraines.... and the nausea and vomiting that go with migraines. I managed this pregnancy without zofran so far.

Okay, I had nausea from the time I got up til the time I went to bed from 6 weeks to 12 weeks. Constant, non-stop, ickiness... Here are my tricks. I never got the Zofran because I wasn't offered it unless I was throwing up. I did once, but thankfully, only once. I didn't try the B6 or the unisom. I forgot about those. I used seabands, and peppermint gum. The peppermint gum kept my nausea at bay, but I chewed it all day long. It was either that or carry around a loaf of bread a day and munch on bread all day. Since I haven't gained a pound in my first trimester, I am thinking I am glad the peppermint gum worked...I'm certain eating bread all day would have caused me to gain 20 lbs that I desperately don't need to gain. I used the seabands with my DS two years ago and was able to suck on Cinnamon Fire Jolly Ranchers all day, rather than gum. The jolly ranchers did not work this time...only the gum. Good luck!!!
Take it if you have the option! At least try! It didn't really help me, but for most people I think it works. I am totally opposed to making yourself into a martyr for the sake of being able to say later you went completely med free... Nobody's going to get a gold star for that...
My OB didn't want to give me Zofran until I tried B6, Unisom, peppermint, jolly ranchers, sea bands and other stuff. I did this for weeks and no relief until I had the Zofran. Nothing wrong in taking something if it makes you feel better

jcdorsey74! I'm going to grab a seaband tonight. My sister also recommended it and said it worked wonders for her. hikerlady, how often did you have to go in for acupuncture?
My doctor put me on Diclegis. It's a category A drug. I have HG if I don't take it, and when I do take it, I'm right as rain. Totally worth it, also doesn't cause constipation. If you decide to go that route, look it up online and get the coupon. I only had to pay $30. For me it's normally $80.
I totally would have paid the $80 for it for my refill though, it did work that well for me.
I had migraines before the pregnancy. I've taken zofran almost every day from 4 weeks to 15 weeks now. No issues. I also take Diclegis every day, which is the B6 / unisom combination. Then again, I have HG, and am a little ticked that I still need this stuff in the 2nd trimester.
I just wanted to say thanks everyone for giving all their recommendations! I'm a FTM and this is my first pregnancy so I really didn't know what to expect. I was fine until this week (6 weeks) and it's been non-stop, all day sickness. no puking just this awful queasiness. I'm going to pick up a seaband, some gum, B6 and Unisom tonight and give those a go
I was super sick with our late loss. Never stopped after the first trimester like my other pregnancies. I was on zofran for a long time. It was ok. It did not take care of it completely but it did take the edge off. I think the hardest part is that its supposed to dissolve in your mouth and it's gross to take so that makes it harder.
No experience with Zofran, but I did have success with acupuncture and acupressure for getting some relief from both nausea and vomiting this time around. If you are open to it, you might give it a shot.
@topaz7777 - Right there with ya! Zofran did nothing for me this pregnancy. Diclegis improved it, but I was still sick. But the two together = winner. Unfortunately I'm 16 weeks and still need both of them. And pepcid.
Diclegis isn't working for me. I just started taking it yesterday and sick as a dog today. I'm going to take it for a few more days to see if it helps.
I took the Diclegis for about 4 days then stopped for 2 days since it wasn't working, then started it again and it worked. Maybe it takes a while. Who knows. I still get sick occasionally but it's a ton better than it was.
So sorry you are going through this! I have zofran, but never used it. My nausea was not overwhelming, I think because I had B6 and Royal Jelly in my daily regimen, or maybe I just got lucky.... I have had a handful of times that I threw up, but it was usually, a pill got stuck or I brushed my tongue too far back.... I agree that if you need it take it! And I sure hope you find what works for you. I would try accupuncture, I did some fertility treatment and weight loss before pregnant and it was very effective! Again, I have been blessed to skip most of the MS symptoms...
Zofran was a miracle drug for me when I had a stomach bug. Got rid of nausea and vomiting. But, I haven't tried it with MS yet. Just trying to eat small snacks often and stay hydrated.
