All of the above except for "I have to check no sign". He grunts, makes a face and then you hear it exiting with usually a rather impressive velocity. Not long after this, the smell hits. The better question for my LO is -- how do you know when he's done?
OMG the sound!! Usually the sound is worse than the actual product. I still find it so funny every time it happens When he was younger, he also used to grunt which was hilarious, but I think he has grown out of that.
My babe used to have THE CUTEST POO FACE when she was a tiny tiny baby. She would put her lips in the most perfect tiny little O ever and kind of scrunch up her eyebrows. Soooo cute. Can't believe she doesn't do that anymore! It's sad to me that some of the characteristics she used to have and faces she used to make are gone already! She used to have a lip quiver when she would be picked up or passed from person to person and definitely when crying. We rarely ever see the quiver anymore.
I saw a 6 week baby yesterday and my ovaries surprisingly ached.
I voted poop face, because he generally gets bright red and his tongue pushes out between his lips. However, on the rare occasion I miss that face, the smell will hit you from across the room.
I voted SS because we are in the poosplosion camp every time we go. It's usually billowing over the top of the diaper in the back or front, sometimes both. So, sight.
SS: Mumble you'll normally hear. She usually poops while eating so she either pushes the bottle out or else sprays milk while she does it. Pretty awesome. Hugsy usually poops after eating...and since he needs to be upright after eating but isn't patient enough to let his sister eat first this means he's often in the bouncer. He'll start squirming and fussing.
He poops about the same times every day 2-3 times so I kind of know when to expect it. The sound though, it squishes sometimes, and others it comes out so hard I am surprised his diaper doesn't burst.
Go figure. I post that LO poops 3 times a day like clock work and then yesterday he poops once, then in the MOTN which he hasn't done since he was less than a month old. I have changed 3 poopy diapers today since 4 am. ugh.
I votes SS because my DS has a terrible time pooping. It's pitiful, and sometimes I have to "assist" him in getting it out because it gets stuck. He rarely ever cries, but he cries while he poops because it hurts his little tush. Sometimes it even bleeds a little. Just pitiful. The cry he does when he poops is in a category of it's own--> pure pain. It's awful!
